I don't think so bcoz sin^2x=1-cos^2x...so in denominator we will get -ve cos^2x but method is applicable for +ve

You can use it in boards just to verify your answer.not otherwise Conventionally, u r supposed to divide your num n denom by cos^2(x) and then proceed
