I can't believe you were fixed in them woods. I run an SPS986 and can never seem to get fixed when laying out clearing and grubbing limits. I always assumed the R10 and SPS986 were similar . guess not. Great video. Keep up the good work!

Robert, thank you for posting this. This is really cool, really good information. I am the program coordinator for a survey technician program at a small community college and we have an S3 robotic with only the 360 prism, it is not active tracking. Say, that last corner seemed a bit at an angle, looks like the land owner did his own "adjustment" LOL. Thanks again for sharing this, you've got me subscribed.

When doing an integrated survey style, it allows you to input a gps antenna height offset since the gps is sitting on top of the prism and the prism is at the correct height. However I'm not seeing where trimble access allows you to input a gps offset when in any other survey style even though I like to run an entire day with the gps on the prism. Part of the day I would run integrated, but not all day and I wouldn't want to keep switching rods configurations. Is there a way to do that in Access or is there some other type of work around?

Robert, first of all thanks for the video. I was trying to create the survey style for the integrated survey, I can select the survey style for Conventional, but I do not have the option to select the GNSS survey style, It says "No survey style found", however I have multiple GNSS survey styles available on my TSC7. Do I need to start an RTK base first? I will appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Awesome! For me, angles and ground distances is what we submit to our Lands Department. So is that "fix scale 1" at 10:25, the coordinates system setting what I need? If so, where do I set this? Coordinate system?

Robert at 12:20 you mentioned pushing a button to switch from GPS to the TS. I've been following your set up procedure but I'm struggling to switch from GNSS to reflector-less. Can you tell me how to quickly switch between the two methods please. Top videos please keep them coming.

From my memory, there's a bar at the bottom of the screen showing either RTK fixed and ENZ accuracy or Angles and distances, click on the bar and you can toggle between both? Then measure

Great vid Robert. One questions, when you connected to your RTK, did you have a GPS base setup someplace or did you survey with a CORS network/wifi? I've encountered sites where I need to shoot a pin (or multiple) and have traditionally setup a control point (IRS w/Cap/Hub&Tack etc.) via CORS network/wifi hotspot, then setup an R10 base over the point....then have set outside control points to the pin I'm looking to survey. Would have to setup a conventional Total Station on my outside/non-base control point to survey in the Pin... (very time consuming and a lot of effort for one shot) You make this look pretty easy with this GPS/S5 setup & resect. Thanks for any input and be safe out there.

Greg Pucher I used a base just because of no cellular service in the area. This example works just as well from a network.

Will IS work with different data collectors IE Ranger 3 with Survey Pro or is it strictly a Trimble data collector deal. I run a S5 with a Spectra Precision Ranger 3.

RagingRudyTV about a year or two ago SP came out with IS. I don’t think it’s as clean as Trimble but it works.

How much did the equipment cost?

Im doing this with a 5605 and R10 mounted on an RMT!!!

Hello Robert, Really enjoying the videos we have been able to see so far. We would like to know how you setup your settings within the controller (TSC3) to obtain the fixed scale to 1 when you show the resection results. Our intention is to be able to export the information in a csv file and inserted into Civil 3D and have our distances and linework shown in ground and not grid, as of now when utilizing the Integrated Survey method they are shown in Grid when our csv files are inserted into Civil 3D. Would obtaining a fixed scale to 1 provide this? Will appreciate your response.

Sounds like a grid to ground video in Access. If your points you resect from are grid then just going to scale one really doesn’t work.

Hi, In a normal resection geometry is important such as keep long backsights and equilateral triangles. Is this the case with integrated surveying? I would be wary of measuring short bacsights?

True but if your not going any farther than your for site then you should be good. Also you can get better accuracy using more than 2 points for your resection to improve geometry on your solution

@@SurveyingWithRobert Thanks Robert, I do subsidence monitoring on a landfill with a Trimble 5605!! I have to do 3 point resections using reflectorless mode.

The R10 does not give a fixed/float solution. It just gives you residuals. So calming it’s fixed is not an accurate statement. But good video. I have not done much with integrated but would like to do more.

Thanks and you are right! Although you are getting in the weeds! I have been using GPS since mid 90’s and old habits like “it’s fixed” are hard to break. Thanks for pointing that out!

Good day Robert, I have a question for u. I have a new S7 2" DR+ and TCS3 (with internal radio). What kind of range can I get between the TS and Data collector before I lose radio link? At 30' - 50' the connection goes in and out. 60' I lose radio connection all together. I noticed in this video you got 80' but with a S5 & TSC7.

You should get 1500 foot in the open and 400-600 feet in the woods. Replace the antennas first if you are trouble shooting.

I figured it had a much better range, and the antennas are 5 days old. The one thing I didn't do which I am about to go check is changing the radio settings. I had to do that with the TDL 450H on the weekend. there was some local radio inference, I believe this is the case.

Jeff Johnstone could be but 5 days old sounds like a bigger issue to me. Try changing the channels but I suspect it will need to go to the shop.

@@SurveyingWithRobert geez 7650 possible radio configs (30 CH's;255Net ID's) lol. I fired up the T10 I got for the sx10 and tried using that, no luck. Put the TSC3 antenna on the S7 and have no radio problems. The Trimble dealer (Cansel) here in western canada suspects it was a faulty antenna and a replacement is on the way. Thank You for ur time Rob and take care my friend.

With the S5 can you show us how to do Missing Line or I think Trimble calls it a inversion. Need to know how to get distance between two points

I measure track and field, throwing events. So I measure center of the ring my A mark and the rest of the throws are in the sector. Every time I measure in the sector it gives me mark missing ling back to center of ring AB,AC,AD,AE and so on. I checked congo inversion and there is to much stuff I only need h. dist.
