For this building structural drawings is given wrongly…if columns are coming near your plot boundary line then eccentric pedestal has to be given…and min columns size recommended for G+1 or above floors is 9”x1’3”…if you give 9”x9” column size then future extension may not be possible

@@ManosTrythat’s what I am saying sir column size is not enough…still people didn’t come out of this 9”x9” & 9”x1’ column size,which is not recommended and for eccentric columns pedestals are not given that’s what I am asking sir…many are simply bending column rods into mat for eccentric columns without providing pedestal which in future may lead to failure of column

Mano Sir,, very useful information to your subscribers. Just a doubt. I hope, fly ash bricks is better than red bricks to use for basement due to high water resistant compared to red bricks. Also, I hope we can apply matti coat on the pillar and beam rods for better life and resistance to corrosion. Please share your thoughts on this.

After plinth beam column starter potu then column raise pannanum or else your column will dislocate in the ground floor level... You have to bend the column steel, in order to avoid that only we will do a column starter or shoe. You are saying the brick will absorb excess water from the concrete that is not true... And your column stirrups spacing also not 6 inches.. it is more than that.

Fly ash cost wise lower than normal brick but strength wise its good and u get proper shape also water absorption is less so good for substructure

Main benefits of laying bricks under grade beam is you will get proper cover and alignment, so that 9 inch brick basement will come good , in my site slightly deviated because I used only PCC below. So that some bricks comes outside 1 inch Mano is correct as all engineers following that way.

​@@rkumaresan2482 Use fly ash so water absorption is less and it wont break easily . If you are not comfortable with bricks you can add 1 inch additional cover on either sides so you get proper 9 inch. The intention of laying bricks is to get full 9 inch grade beam
