Same kind of scenario happened with National Insurance Company in Himachal. At that point in time, I got to know that Insurance Surveyors are Independent and not employed by any Insurance Company.

Fully Agreed! Never go for govt. Motor Insurance, I once had to take claim for 0 dep insurance from United India and got only 80k return on a claim of 105k because of Surveyor Ishwar Singh's mistake, he created an estimate of 2lac on pre inspection and then on final inspection when invoice was 1.05 lakh he passed only 80k Only take private co. cashless policy.

thankyou so much sir aapne ye incident share kiya but i'm worried now! we bought chevrolet car a year ago and purhased a new insurance of the same company i.e oriental insurance. i just hope i never have to face such situation bcoz as you said aam aadmi ko to fed up krr denge ye and i don't think so ki mai inse claim le bhi paunga. Rahi baat cash mai kaam karane ki to kya kahu, humare yaha to chevrolet waalo ne parts or service itni mehengi kri hui hai ki as if i own a fortuner not a chevrolet sail.

The insurance surveyor said that I am suppose to take a photo after an accident, only then he can give full claim. There are many situations where after an accident people are hurt, scared or very frustrated taking a photo is not at the top of the priorities

Sir not only oriental insurance their are so many of companies. I face same issue with my car where my dead axcle is damage and my policy is with kotak Mahindra Bank and surveyor rejected my claim by saying you did it by your own @kotakgeneralinsurance

Same happened with me company united india insurance. Surveyors are independent body under IRDAI. They 90 days to settle payment better to go with private companies.
