Insulator hunting old glass found Crown Emboss Cauvet’s Patent CD133, CD170 Pennycuick’s!

We found old glass insulators still on the poles! Cauvet’s patent CD 133 and some embossed ER, Pennycuick’s, Hawley PA, and Carnival glass! If you have any questions, please ask! All insulators that we found on the Delaware and Hudson are Crown Embossed except the last one. CD 126, CD 127, CD131, CD133, CD138, CD145, CD156.1 CD170. The best color I found and the only one was mustard yellow! It was a CD133 crown embossing. It had a big rear skirt chip.

Yes, it's very exciting to climb the poles to see what is up there! I think it's saving history!
Some very nice finds so late in the game. Started doing this back in the late 60's. Thanks for showing!

I know a place where there are still poles with glass insulators still on them. Now I have to make some time to get them before they are removed. Thanks for posting this video.👍

Man, there was some cool stuff on the D&H back in the day! Looks like the pole lead was still in service here. Thanks for the great pictures!!

Yes, some really nice ones! I think there was some power on the poles near the light signals.

You said ask, so had to ask...great finds there. Realize you may not answer but where is that trestle and is it tied/near to a tunnel? Not familiar with D&H but have been railbiking up near Glenn Falls but not same line.

I do not believe it was near a tunnel. It's been a while since I hunted that line. I think it was between Unadilla and Afton along route 7. The D&H runs from Albany to Binghamton. Thanks, it was an amazing time finding those old insulators.

I have a whole box of those that a neighbor gave me years ago. I don't know what to do with them
