The last few months I followed the "break up" videos (dave2d) and decided to go back and watch most of you alls old videos. Fast forward to now and I have become a really big Max fan. I dont think Dave has crossed any lines, but that's just my opinion. And heck if it werent for Dave's videos I probably would have ever starting watching Max / Max and Lee.

@@Jay-L33 I get it. It took me a while to appreciate them... I'm very interested now as they are doing major work to his mom's little ranch in Utah with chickens, goats, greenhouse garden, and renovating a travel trailer. Just like E & B they had to abandon their home on wheels when Covid struck.

Max, you and Eamon are cracking me up with the little jabs between videos. I'm starting to wonder if you two set all this up before hand. Nah, I just think its awesome ribbing between 2 good mates. Love the build so far. Definitely some good thought has gone into this build. Can't wait to see Occy in his Co-pilot spot. Speaking of, how is he and timeline upon his arrival, any news??

Ha ha ha, so you ask 'does anyone find this strangely satisfying' and I go YES. Not the insulation bit, but to watch you build this amazing van from scratch. I have no intention of building a van myself, not even ever been camping. But I'm so enjoying your content. I guess I just watch it to relax and it works.

We’re in the midst of a vanbuild too and it’s super inspiring watching yours. I’m in the US now, buy lived in Ballarat and Melbourne for a bit and I’m enjoying seeing that beautiful Aussie countryside again! I’m looking forward to seeing how you’re connecting the solar panels to the charge controller. If we run ours in parallel, we need 4-6AWG and I don’t think MC4 connectors will fit on wire that large? The people who give you grief about time don’t understand how long it takes to research and order all the right parts... and all the little issues you run into that take 4 times longer than you’d expect... never mind all the video recording and editing! I can’t imagine trying to do that too! Keep up the positive outlook & those sheep will see what they’re missing and beg you to take them back. 🐑🐑🐑

OMG! I laughed sooo hard at the "why can't we be friends?!" and then completely lost it when you searched how to steal sheep!!! I also thought the chai-coffee joke was pretty funny, though personally, I enjoy both ;) Finally, I think the installation looks great!!! I like your installation choices the best. I think it looks easier and neater to install compared to a lot of other options.

We used multiple types of Insulation as well, but went with spray foam overall. Great video Max! We love watching your van build right along with our own!

Great job on that insulation so far. I build a house before and found that easier than working on vans. I have done two Bedford Vans, one VW Caddy and now my Renault Trafic LWB. I am in NZ and installed a Chinese heater a year ago to supplement my logburner. One thing I do know is the circuit boards are not sealed like the eberspacher. So yes protecting it from moisture is a good idea

We have the same heater in a Ford Transit. We mounted it under the passenger seat. #gamechanger We slept in Asheville, NC when it was 23 degrees F outside (below freezing) and we ran the heater in the lowest C setting all night and it was so pleasant! Previously se used a heater buddy, but in a can, it’s too much to worry about. That heater is MVP in the winter.

Thank you for going into the details! I've always wondered about the insulation options since the usual rule of insulation would be to make it the tightest on the inside and slightly less tight on the outside so any water that does get through from the inside will at least move all the way to the outside. Since the van's walls are made from metal, there is no way you will be able to make the inner part MORE tight than the outer. I guess one way to make sure moisture is not going to be an issue is to use material that doesn't dampen so quickly, which unfortunately will rule out most of the natural insulation materials. Plus I assume an additional issue is that metal as a siding will also create condensation on itself so it's moisture from two sides. That somehow makes me glad about my wooden home, haha. Also, XPS as opposed to EPS (that's what they are called here) is definitely worth the higher price, no crumbling and a more dense and stable structure. And less of a pain to work with when cutting it up. Looking forward to seeing the next bit!

An idea for the construction of the kitchen. Buy 2 brackets so that both front seats sits on a swivel. Then build some cupboards that can be pushed back and forth(over the seatingpart of the front seat). When both front seats are turned you can measure how deep the cupboards can be. I think your countertop could be extra deep with that solution. Or even attach the countertop to the cupboards I don't know if the car should build for 2 but if not then you could remove the passenger seat and use that space for a water tank or toilet.

Perfect timing.. blacking out some widows in my van, then insulate and was thinking how to approach it.. and thanks to you I now know.. loving this build series .. thanks
