Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul. Like a weaned child leans against its mother, so is my soul within me. One of the best ways to calm and quiet your soul while the world is turning itself into a pretzel out there is to listen to godly music praising Jesus and preaching the gospel at the same time. It may be instrumental, but the words were written and have been sung so many times, they hang in the spirit realm. Just hearing the tune is enough to turn our eyes upon Jesus. Brings a lot of great memories and of my Grandmother singing with a lamp during the break of dawn at the old house.

Praise God for blessing your ministry, Josh and Sarah! I've been listening to you for a couple of years now. Acoustic guitar is my favorite instrument - my son plays it and also the mandolin. I was searching for acoustic guitar and hymns one day and your channel came up - the only one one youtube at the time, so I hit the subscribe button immediately! I was so happy to find you. It is such a simple and soothing sound in the midst of this chaotic world, and I love the older hymns with their great theology, but I'm also enjoying the newer songs, as well. I hope your CDs will soon be available for sale outside of the USA, as I would love to have some and gift it to those who don't have the internet. Your Christmas music was cast onto our TV almost every day during December and I often have it playing early in the morning as I'm getting ready or as I'm winding down from the day. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. I pray God will bless you in your new venture and bring you and your family times of spiritual refreshing as you so freely give of yourselves to others.

Thanks Bonnie for the comment. It's been a wild few years for us as we've had to transition to learning to do ministry on KZread verses in person at live events. It's very different to say the least. International orders are a challenge due to the paperwork and the extra shipping costs. I have begun doing some international orders at times. The songs on this video are recorded with a Takamine EF508KC. I just used a couple of mics and a DI to record it. Point one mic at the 12th fret and the other at the body behind the bridge. Pan those left and right with the DI in the center. This is the best way that I've found to record.

When you get settled...do a tutorial on this song please.

The sound on this track is much better. So soothing. Is it a different guitar or different equipment? Much more mellow. Not so tinny sounding. Great for sleep.

Hi Michele, That is a great question. I do always struggle with having the guitar sound to "bright". There is so much that goes into this and please understand that it's one of the biggest things I think about as I record and mix my guitar sounds. I appreciate you bringing it up so I can go back and evaluate what might be different with these recordings in terms of EQ or other factors. It's the same equipment and the same recording and playing techniques. These songs were recorded on my Takamine guitar since this is before I had my Taylor guitar (now I use both). The more recent videos I have contain a mix of both guitars.
