I was surprised to see you use cold water. I assume that's because you activate the yeast in the IP instead of relying on heated water. This is great because I always stress over the water temperature killing the yeast LOL. Also, good explanation about premixing the salt so as not to adversely affect the yeast. NEW SUBSCRIBER! @@yogameditationinsight I finally bought a toaster oven that is serving just as well as a full oven, but uses less electricity and space. It's a Bella Pro Series. Now I feel that I have everything I ever dreamed of 😅

As a bread baker with five decades of baking experience, I must say it was interesting to see the result. To be a bread baked with only all purpose flour and that amount of yeast, it came out extremely compact. It will however always taste good when it’s fresh baked and warm, but not so good the day after. I am ordering an instant pot now, so I’m looking forward to test it out for baked goods.

Could one either add a little more yeast or proof it longer to get an airier loaf of bread? I did this, only with whole wheat and ended up with a very dense loaf of bread.

Thank you for sharing! I love my instant pot! I have two 6 and 3 quart, I don’t have or feel the need to own the browning lid, I really enjoy your recipes that you share. I have made this bread many many times, and it always comes out great. It doesn’t seem like I am saving much time to make it in the instant pot. But thank you for sharing and showing us that it can be done! I will stick to my Dutch oven for this bread.... ❤️💕 I love that you tested it till you got it just right! ❤️💕

I was thinking the same thing, but realized this would be a great way to make bread in our RV since the ovens are notoriously lousy. Also, a college kid could make it in his/her dorm room (if they ever get to go back to living on campus!)

@@nozpato Yes! My little T@B teardrop doesn't have an oven, but on second thought, it also doesn't have room for an IP either. However, my crockpot stores nicely in there and I have an apple cake recipe I've made in it, so I am going to try adapting this bread for my crockpot.
Love your recipes .. thanks so much for doing the hard work for all of us! I bought some stoneground wheat flour (to learn to make bread) .. can I substitute that for all-purpose?

I modified the recipe for my bread making machine and it was still delicious! I’m at a higher altitude (elevation of ~4,500) and even though I made mine in a bread machine, the ratios were perfect. I put the ingredients into my bread machine in the following order: water (at 80 degrees), flour, salt, yeast (I did 2 tsp active yeast; and had it knead for 10 minutes, rise for 2 hours, and then bake for 42 minutes with the crust color set to “DARK”.

I'll have to try this with my no knead recipe. I do mine by starting with a sponge, mixing 1 cup water 1 cup flour and packet of yeast. Letting it sit for 30 minutes, then I add my the rest of my flour until i've got a super wet dough.

I love this video. I have a grain allergy and I was wondering if it would be any different if I used a blend of Pecan and Walnut flour? I don't know if there are others out there with a grain allergy but I do know there are a lot of people who believe they have a gluten intolerance so this information might be helpful for them as well . . .

Hello Amy, for final baking, you changed for Instant Pot For Fried lid. So only, you could get golden brown, crusty & flavoured bread. What about me? I mean I don't have ip air fryer lid. So, how to do, on my mutricoc Smart Pot Eko? Can you please tell me? :)
Thank you! I have been thinking about making bread (well actually fighting with myself as I try to minimize eating bread and homemade bread is irresistible.) But my favorite part is that is used the air fryer lid. I haven't seen very many recipes that do and I would really like to see more (pretty please!) Thank you for all you do. Your recipes always work and I share them often. P.S. Would love to see more plant-based recipes too as I am now limiting my meat intake. (I am always trying out new healthy lifestyles.)

I’m new to instant pot, literally our Duo Crips is just our of the box, so forgive this question if you have answered it a thousand times over. After you pressure cooked the bread I noticed that the water was left in the pot when changing over to the baking process, will that cause any issues with the instant pot or should the water be removed?
Would this also work with a gluten free flour, if yes which sort of flour would be best?

I made the bread yesterday. I chose not to put the dough in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours. I used the instant pot yogurt setting to proof the dough both times. Two things happened. The dough stuck terribly to the floured parchment paper on the first proofing, I had to scrape the dough away. The second proofing in the pan went better. The bread did not cook in a dome shape it was rather flat and somewhat dense. I'm not sure what went wrong. Given the dough stuck so badly to the parchment paper I'm guessing my dough may have been too sticky. Any insight you have to offer is welcome.

@@allissab4915 bake it in a preheat 450F oven for 15 - 20 minutes. This recipe will work for both 6 - 8 qt IPs. You're probably better off cooking the bread in the oven after the proofing. Bread usually only takes 30-45 minutes to cook. I'd adjust the oven temp to a lower setting though. This method goes over 1 hour for just cooking time.

Hi Amy, I have nutricook Smart Pot Eko of 6ltrs. I have these options in my instant pot. They are: Cancel 1) Soup/Broth, 2)Meat/Stew 3) Dal/Bean 4) Chiciken 5) Egg, 6) Delay 7) Slow Cook 8) Adjust 9) Saute, 10) pressure Cook 12) Keep warm Start 13) Rice 14) Biryani 15) Porridge 16) :Steam/Idli 17) Cake. As, I didn't know how to attach the pic of these buttons in my InstantPot, in KZread Comments, I have to mention in detail. So, to rise the dough, which button should I use. Please tell me.. Two more doubts, I have. Please don't mind. . I have Active yeast. So, should i have to ferment & then add to the flour or directly add and mix. Other one, if there is gap of 1 or 2hrs time gap, for adding yeast tob the dough after fermenting, will there dough doesn't rise? :)

I went to order the stainless steel pots you use to make the bread in to put in the instant pot and they are out. Do you know of any that are comparible to these that I can purchase? Can't make bread until I get these!!!
I have raised my dough in the instant pot but have never cook the bread in it. I can’t imagine the bottom being crusty. Thoughts?

Amy & Jacky The lid you used is solid and this one you posted is for a steamer.
After all of the dough proofing, shaping, measuring the temp and browning you manual as well just bake it.
Where do I find the actual amounts of the ingredients
