I used to watch Tom when he first started when I was in my early teens, I remember Spike his bearded dragon. He was so humble and still is humble after all these years and after all his wealth. @@yrbG80 2 gigabits connections can be found in some countries like the Icelandic ones because these are the ones where the servers are. BUT at some point you don't need these speeds for your personal use, you won't notice the difference after a few hundred mbps, the only thing that makes a difference then is the ping

The provider is providing the 500 up and down. Tom's old setup wasn't able to deliver those speeds via WiFi

Unifi is decent for home installs, for more enterprise focused gear you want to be looking at Ruckus or Huawei. To take things to the next level you should really be using planning hardware and software (such as Ekahau) to survey, plan and then QA the installations. Good results on this job though, things get trickier when you have neighbours' WiFi affecting you! I'd also recommend that if there is cabling for the TVs/consoles/etc. that really should be used instead of WiFI - there is finite airtime available - no amount of hardware will overcome physics!

I just setup a 48 port poe switch, USg pro, and 16 ac pros at a fraternity house. I've got many of these similar setups using ubiquiti and I like their interface very much. Good entertaining and educational video. Thinking I may setup a video of my installs and share with you.

Those accesspoints are meant to be mounted in the ceiling... The radiowaves can bounce off surfaces better because of the way the antennas are built in the APs...

The routers serve at their best ceiling mounted, and i personal switch off the annoying blue light for most people and a small sticky cable strip would look so much cleaner ;-)

@@Macauley7272 That is because the speed test is measuring in Mbits, and you are downloading a file in Mbytes. Two different units of measurement, your 100 Mbits would be 12.5 Mbytes per second.

Linus (from LTT) got fcking Wifi 6 with 800mb/s upload (10gb/s over Lan connection to the internet). Your Wifi isn't the fastest in the world it's even slow at 400mb/s compared to Linus' 800mb/s which is twice as fast. Title is incorrect.

Timo Jet yes linus has a 10Gb network, i think he would get close to 10Gb speeds but the server on the other end needs to be 10Gb as well and not throttle the receive speeds which is very unlikely.

He had 500 up and down the entire time, his Ethernet speed was always good, but his wireless speed is what improved because he replaced his access points for wifi, before his hold access point could only do the 15 Mbps

The way you pronounce ethernet is like nails on a chalk board to me.
