Installing the WOOD STOVE in the LOG CABIN, Christmas Night and Snow Walk (S3 Ep16)

This were the moments I was dreaming about for the past few years. I was more than happy that I managed to get the wood stove working before Christmas and we started the first fire in the log cabin right on the christmas eve.

I said it before and will say it again...Nik, you are an "Old Soul". To see the joy in your eyes once the stove pipe was in and to hear you talk about it. More than just the fire was kindled that day. All the hard work was well worth it to have your first Christmas in the Log Cabin.

The many special moments that you share with your family are encapsulated in the darkened trees that make the base of this lovely home. Without your family, it would just be a building in the woods done by a craftsman for sure, its family that makes it so grand. What a great touch the tree telling a story as well of how nature is in charge. We only rearrange things for a while and then she takes it back. As I age, I realize I too shall be a part of the soil again. Your talents Nik are incredible as we see what you see from your standpoint. You are a great man in my books

It was heartwarming to see you and your family! Family time celebrating the birth of Jesus is the most special time of year to me, so much love in the air! Hearing the sounds of your daughter’s voice and excitement was a joy. And to see your son help you is grand. The tree is beautiful with moss added to bottom. When I saw baby Jesus placed under the tree that blessed me seeing He had a place in your log cabin. It didn’t surprise me when in came the wood stove, yes, a good quality stove like everything you do. I loved looking at your log walls during the video and seeing such beautiful work with those logs sealed together jam packed nice. And when I look at your face I see a man who gives life a good shot. Loved seeing the love and affection shown to your woman and you together as a family living life with fun together. I can’t wait to see your next video! I always look forward to seeing you! Same here in South Texas, fellow watcher, no snow just cold weather dropping to the low 30 degrees Fahrenheit; but alas, not enough moisture to bring us any snow. I've also been watching Nik’a build from the beginning, and while I also would love to see more content from his channel I understand it must be tough. Nik has to balance his family, work, build the cabin, and edit/upload all the content he makes. That takes a lot of time, so, understandably, his releases are sparse. I look at it from the point of quality over quantity, sure he could release a bunch of crappy videos or he can release them slowly.and take his time making them the best quality possible. It's like a diamond, when you find it it just looks like an ordinary piece of crystal, but give that to a jeweler, and he will make a beautiful gem out of it. This is what Nik is giving us, only the best.

Hi Nick, I've been following you for about two years, I really do not know how to say, you are a perfect human being and a man, if I say you are, it may not be a good word, but you are much more than perfect, you are extraordinary, you are exceptional, you have crossed all boundaries and standards in being good, I am from you I learned a lot. Congratulations to the family you have and to yourself for having such a kind and loving family, but I have a question for you, maybe many others have asked, how can you do all this hard work alone ??? From the first days you started to build this beautiful house, I watched all your clips, I saw how you walked in the coldest weather and alone, those very big and big trees in the mountains from a way far away from where you built them. After cutting with difficulty with a tractor alone, Also, if there is a mistake in this message, forgive me, because I wrote this text with the help of Google Translator. I wish the best for you and your family and especially that lovely little girl .

Nik, We had a wood burning stove back in the 80s, so I'm sure the technology/attributes have evolved but I'm curious if they suggest putting any kind of protective barrier between the back of the stove and the wall? Or the bottom of the stove and the floor?

I bet he has followed the specs. New stoves (at least in the U S) are a different class than the old with emissions etc.. I am curious about the 90’ bend and cleaning the creosote. He has a much nicer one than I yet I could do a 3 inch clearance and I got it twenty years ago. I clean it with special logs that has Lye to Make the creosote flakes off and fly out the stack. Black flakes are easy to identify on fresh snow…. Best to all, may this new be a new better for us! Take care

@@jayheinrich5207 I too was curious about the 2 90 degree bends esp with the significant rise he has to go to. Thought for certain it would lag out a good 45 degree for at least 18" but maybe it's got a good electric fan that helps exhaust. Been a long time since I've looked at them w all the bells and whistles.

I'll protect the wall with stone or something similar. I knew from the first day that it can't be like that forever, it gets too hot.

Holy cow that's a heavy dining table! Maybe hollow out some of the under side. So wonderful to see the tree in there and all the finish work come together. I'm very envious.

Oh Nik, what can one say about your work other than, just amazing. I always look forward to anything you release, and I love the way you interact with your family, the love you have for them, and they you, shows up clearly in every video they show up with you. Also, we can all see that you love what you’re working on, and it also shows in your work. And the vistas, my god, they’re glorious! Every time you show us your land it is beautiful, just watching you take a stroll around the forest is so engaging. In this one, we get to see the special connection you have with your wife, you two are a perfect match. Anyway, thank you for everything you bring us Nik, it is greatly appreciated. Much love from South Texas.
