Installing the WOOD STOVE & CHIMNEY at the OFF GRID property
With fall arriving we decided it was time to install the wood stove and chimney pipe at the off grid property. Installation was relatively easy, although we did hit a few snags along the way!

Wood stove is from DROLET (WWW.DROLET.CA)
Stove and chimney pipe is from DURAVENT (WWW.DURAVENT.COM)
Welcome to our little adventure! We have decided to purchase and develop an off grid property for recreational use. We have absolutely no experience, but we do have a healthy amount of drive to complete this project over the next few years!

I'll be installing my wood stove in my pole barn this weekend...first time and no helper so your video was a great help. Thank you so much. That part about cutting the hole in the wall...I have that same feeling but I prefer that ...to cutting a hole in the roof. Clear and to the point Thanks for sharing.
I never had a stove or a fireplace but installed a stove in my house 2 years ago and love it ,took a while to learn the heat and wood and dampener but I have it down pat now and love it , I put a small fan in my family room door to kinda blow the heat down the hall way and works great
Great video! You explained well and didn't ramble like alot of other tutorials. Your home is lovely. My Dad has a completely off grid cabin. 2 now actually. Cool to see you doing this yourself!
Hey man excellent job. Looks good
Good work. I knew you could do it.
Nice job Bro. I'm doing the exact same installation in the garage soon.
Another extension going up on the outside will be my challenge
If you get any snow you need a cricket, snow splitter.
Bought the same dura vent to add an extension to bring it up to code. We can’t seem to get it on. It’s supposed to screw on another piece but just won’t go on all the way. Just one side wants to go in not sure why
Drolet says exterior chimneys are acceptable but interior and through the highest point of the roof is best. The guy at Morton (Metal) Buildings recommends exterior, as you have done. Now that you have had this for a year, what are your thoughts? You probably will be cleaning it soon. I'm interested in that as well.
I did mine exactly same way,
Think it needs to be 2 feet above the peak for proper draft, plus I seen a huge gap around the pipe entering through the thimble, how are you going to fix that? Looks like a wooded area that should have a spark arrestor cap on top?
Funny, I’m from Massachusetts and also having a real hard time finding someone to install my wood stove too.
Well done! Have you had a chance to test it yet?
Great Video!!! Hey, does the top of the chimney have to be higher than the very top of the roof for it to draw? Did this work well? Thanks!
U got that hanger up side down it's supposed to support the bottom of the t section
List of parts and where to get them
Looks good. Can I ask what model of Drolet stove that is, and how many square feet your cabin is? I'm trying to decide between the different "Escape" models myself.
I have this set how did u attach the elbow to the chimney pipe, can't figure out how to put the flue on seem rather tight to push it into the chimney pipe..
I am going to do the same thing with a camp here in Maine. After talking to a wood stove place where they wanted to charge me over $3000 to install the pipe and they would not go through the metal roof. What does that tell you!
