Thank you for showing how to check that the panels work! I checked mine and they work. Have had them for a year before I could get them installed. You are the only one I have seen so far who showed doing that.

I have always done that. It would really suck going through the work of installing only to find that it doesn't work.

Looks good. I don't do much boondocking anymore. If I do its usually just one night as I travel and my batteries will hold for a night before I run the generator.

Boondocking helps when traveling the midsection of the country. Its also a nice break from RV parks.

Not sure why Renogy sells them wire kits with both wires black.. The BougeRV wire kits are One Red and One Black for half the price. But the same company makes them all...And the BourgeRV kit comes with extra connectors. To use as disconnects at the Battery..

It was part of the kit. Color coding would be nice.

@@RvTipsandTrips Yeah I seen the price $40.00 for Renogy ones 10 foot #10.. Not colored. Then I seen the BougeRV ones for the same cable for $20.00..I said self.. This is a no brainier for the same cables..The extra connectors was a bonus.

Can a 1/4 inch hole be drilled on top of the aluminum panel frame without hitting the panel itself?

I dont think you can do that. Not enough clearance. There are quite a few mounting holes in the frame to use.

Did you install a disconnect or trippable fuse between the solar panels and the charge controller? I see some places say it is required, especially if you need to shut off or remove the battery

I added a inline 30amp fuse between the solar panels and the controller. I bought the inline fuse blade holder at an auto parts store. Its intended usr is for automotive power amplifiers. You can easily pull the the fuse to disconnect the solar from the conyroller when working on the battery bank.

F.Y.I.I DID a video on this panel with my thoughts, Also i called Renogy and informed them about using plastic or whatever that blue stuff is, heat and uv might be a issue in the future on the corners.

That blue plastic corners is new to me. The system I installed years ago didnt have that. I will keep an eye on it. If it becomes a problem bracing it with angle brackets maybe a solution. Thanks for the heads up!

@@RvTipsandTrips Try adding a primer and a good reflection paint , I tried some aluminum tape no success so paint time i like your suggestion on adding more brackets.

That plastic corner is there to control flexing of the panel while driving. A solid ridge panel would cause damage if it rattles or Flexes under load...So I would just leave it alone. As the mounting hardware will hold the panel still...
