Something to note: Keep in mind that I'm just a normal guy who loves cars. I'm not a trained mechanic, although my father was. If something interesting car wise comes up, I try to film it and upload it for entertainment and the "look at what I done" factor. Pat me on the back, or give me a "good game" pat on the butt. These videos are meant to inspire other DIYers. Working on cars can be dangerous, even life threatening, if the proper cautionary measurements aren't taken. You also run the risk of damaging your vehicle and or voiding your warranty. If for any reason you feel like the job is too big to handle, I would suggest consulting with a professional mechanic.

    What about the gen 2 1.4 turbos? Can it be swapped for larger turbo without hurting stock internals?

  • @cmattdabrat

    @cmattdabrat

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@BLSmith-hh1dx How much hp the stock internals can handle is unknown to me, but I would think around 250 hp, maybe a little more with the ring gaps opened up. For the second gen, with the non LUV, it would be quite easy to make a turbo adapter since the exhaust manifold is built into the head. If yours has the LUV engine, the manifold will be a little more complicated, but nothing that can't be done yourself, or with a buddy that knows how to weld.

    eBay turbos are definitely hit and miss, I currently am running a gt3582 eBay one on my built h22a. It’s been a good turbo so far. I’m not afraid to push it, cause honestly If it breaks then it’s ok cause it’s a cheap turbo but so far it’s good. It all depends on the set up and the oil feeding system etc. I’m not running the coolant side of the turbo, I may run that side once summer hits. But so far it’s been good. I’m really enjoying this build cause no one really do this to a Cruz. This is cool.
