Good work! Yeah doing things yourself saves tons of money. I hate putting holes in my camper too but sometimes it is unavoidable.

Hmm...🤔Umm..🤔. I'm stumped Mr. Mike and Mrs. Joni 🤷🏾‍♀️. I've got ❓s of course...1)Why did you need a second awning? 2) How expensive is it to have it done at an RV repair center? I really do thank you for sharing this because this was something I hadn't seen before 🙏🏾. I'll be honest..This installation scares the heck out of me. I do give you and Mrs. Joni props👏🏾👏🏾 for having nerves of steel to do it yourselves 👏🏾👏🏾. Absolutely awesome guys💯🦾🦾

Janice, our slides hold over a gallon of water after a rain. I sweep the water off but inevitably water is on our floors. As far as the price from dealerships installation, I’m sure it varies. I’ve seen upwards of $1000 per slide topper. I understand the nerves anytime you put holes in your camper. I would say take your time and measure twice. i have a Grand Design 303 with awing on the passenger slide and GD dealer refused to install slide topper (said they could not), but you clearly disprove that! great video!

We have friends who have the Grabd Design 303 RLS and have a topper over the passenger side slide. Take all of your measurements and do it yourself, not that bad of a job. Thanks for watching!

I can’t speak on all manufacturers but East to West told us they put backers in the walls for slide topper installs.

Yes! They can get very expensive having the dealership install them. Anything we can do to save!

Nice work. Just seeing your channel. Do you think unrolling the awning to far on the first install casued the need to re roll it 5 times to fix the slack? Solera says to go like 8 inches I think

We have yet to go through rain/storm. We will keep you posted. Our bedroom slide is was super loud when it rained

I had the same problem with my brackets popping off when I tried to extend my awning. About how much longer were your new screws? Do you remember? Finally did you use new holes?

I ended up buying larger (in width and length) screws. Roughly in inch in length.

Don't pull your pins with the slide out. Pull them out with the slide in.
