Very nice work above your fridge. I get a bit picky about my projects, and your attention to detail shows as well. Great ideas. Thanks for sharing.

Mr. Odell, THANK YOU for this very informative video. I recently purchased an Arlo 2 system with 4 cameras and I followed your directions for cutting the aluminum bar stock to mount the cameras. They worked perfectly!!! I am having some wiring issues due to the sharp pitch of my roof coupled with my 230 pound-68 year old portly frame trying to squeeze back to the soffit without poking any more holes in my head from the roofing nails protruding through. My soffit is stiff aluminum so I will probably be forced to drill some holes. From there I am hoping to be able to run a fish tape back into the attic far enough to connect a power cable. ANYWAY, Thank You so much again for taking the time to post this video!!!

Nice install I like it. You could add 2 computer fans to the cabinet one pushing air in the other pulling warm air out for ventilation.

I know many people think the cabinet above the fridge is a great hiding place, but that's where many people keep their alcohol. I know several people that have had their placed tossed and that cabinet was always hit. Just saying. Great video though. Thanks for taking the time to share. It was just what I was looking for before starting my camera installation project.

Hi, good trick and info with the aluminium strip Thanks ! , and nice setup, but i have to say, kitchen kind of not the best place to put such a nice set up, grease from frying and cooking , difficult to work on Dvr and equipment if need to check the recording of something... is better though to maybe go for a closet or your bedroom Tv setup place , thats what i think. But good video and filming., and info Thanks

My neighbor did the same thing as you did. When he got robbed, they took his unit also. Cops laughed at him.

I would keep the dvr in the attic and run a hdmi to master tv and run a Ethernet to box.

Would this work if I replace aluminum with Lexan (Plexiglass)?

Yes you could use plastic strips. Just make sure they are a little thicker for support

What are the screw sizes when you drilled in the screws through the aluminum?

would your soffit have supported the cameras?

I myself went with the aluminum bar stock mentioned in this post. Not that expensive and not a big deal to cut to size. I would think that even if the soffit supported the camera it would be wobbly in windy weather and trigger lots of false readings. Plus you would have to drill holes in the soffit for the mounting screws. All in all I personally think you would be better off with the bar stock mentioned in the video. Just my 2 cents...

My two cents...... put your router below, whether it’s in a cabinet...or out. ....but at-least put it at chest-to-waist level high. We don’t really use the internet hanging out on the fridge or couches or chairs as high as the router that is placed on top of the cabinet that is atop the fridge. With Omni directional antennas (as the antennas that are on these types of modem/WiFi products) the donut of modulation is 360 degrees, but most importantly only more-or-less only 3-5 feet in height. You will notice a considerable amount of bandwidth-throughput and range. Thanks for the video. It’s great we can all help each other in this day and age. Imagine (just even 10 years ago) the amount of paid technicians and contractors we would still be paying without resources such as KZread. Regard

Cameras on the eaves are worthless. try to identify a crook by the top of his hat. Place them down low where the crooks crawl.

@@Batman-nf4nn for sure, exactly my thinking, got to keep it high enough so at least making it hard to get at when thief comes on by.....right? spraying it with paint is easy and fast, and CAMERA is useless in seconds! if a ladder is not needed to get close to CAM, then its a bad location for sure, and RG, if we are wrong, then someone indicate what we are missing, right? my thought about the NDR/DVR and someone finding it is this, a DVR Security Lock Box with Fan, >>> i searched, and seems it is an item you have to get online, no local stores have them.>>>> www.google.com/search?source=hp&ei=v054X5KuJ5H65gLAi5CYAw&q=DVR+Security+Lock+Box+with+Fan&oq=DVR+Security+Lock+Box+with+Fan&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQDDIECAAQDVD2Ilj2ImC9L2gCcAB4AIABmQKIAZkCkgEDMi0xmAEAoAECoAEBqgEHZ3dzLXdperABAA&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwjSie_8l5jsAhURvVkKHcAFBDMQ4dUDCAg
