Mine won't latch, ive almost resorted to beating it with a hammer but thought I'd see if anyone had any advice first for me

I can't take mine apart more than removing the handles. The middle stuck together. It's an old GEO privacy lever type, but I'm about to carefully rip apart the whole thing with a clab hammer 💥🙉💫

My door got locked from inside and not reposnding when turn with pin or anything. How to fix it? Please kindly help
