HMMWV two piece rims have an internal double bead lock (and run flat) earlier ones made out of magnesium, later ones made out of rubber. but you can swap them out with large diameter pvc pipe or whatever you have there to be internal double bead locks. the key is the two piece rim that sandwiches the bead to the part that you showed.

Totally is a done thing, check out the Japanese Kei Car PVC drifting. The rwd layout definitely makes it more uncontrollable.

The plastic rings ideas already been a thing in Japan for a few years now but this is golden

A short track by me in Wisconsin does metal skids on the rear of front wheel drive cars for 5 lap races. This would be an awesome addition to freedom factory races.

Reminds me of tray sliding in fwd cars during high school. The autoshop teacher told us to use old brake rotors and man do those things throw sparks everywhere. Lol good times.

They do this in Japan but with front drive cars so they can drift. They also have little water sprayers to keep the plastic cool so it doesn't wear as fast.

the a-hole EPA put a stop to all the cool diesel content.

In high school we would put lunch trays under the rear wheels of a fwd Honda and lock the e-brake. That’s how we learned to drift.

Of course the air freshener would be “black ice”… fitting for this experiment 😂

They are pvc inserts for H1 beadlocks. They replace the rubber or magnesium runflats that are in the hummer H1 double beadlocks. I have some in my jeep and have tons of buddies that use them
