I was going to ask if you were at the Equip Expo. Swear I saw you, but didnt know for sure so didn't want to bug you. Love the paver layout. Nice seeing something different then exact same pavers the whole stretch.

Wondering when securing the curb stone and edge of patio with concrete instead of using plastic edge retainers? Is it because of strength or longevity?

I love the way this is coming out. I do have a question about the front posts. I noticed the roof rafter only covers half the posts. What are you doing to weather seal the rest? I may have missed it in another vlog. I may also be getting ahead of myself.

We will have a top trim going on there, but since it’s all treated lumber it doesn’t really have to be sealed, more of an aesthetic detail

How come the pavers are placed directly on the gravel?, is this a new technique without sand? Will the installation stay stable?

We use a 3/4” clean stone base and then 3/8” stone for the setting bed, we find it a much better installation than sand setting beds

Any meaningful cost difference between 3/8" vs sand for setting bed? Finished our back deck this summer and will be doing ground level hardscape next spring. Stone definitely seems less temperamental than sand, but I don't have the experience to know for sure. Also planning to use larger format for the field and then slimmer brick/stone for bordering.@@THEpremieroutdoor

By many accounts, this is stable. But I too have questions as the final setting by vibratory compactor is designed to make sand come up between interlocking joints. This open bedding is used (required) for pavers that allow drainage. In my experience, the 3/8 has some challenges compared to sand because the "resolution" of what you can adjust is in higher increments. On the other hand, you don't need to worry about rain when installing. Sand will washout and get very compacted. The other thing to remember is to get the right sand, which is builder's sand and not play sand. The latter is rounded and will have structural instability, leading to inconsistent sinking of pavers.

The guy with the green hat is by far the most unprofessional person I’ve seen…dude like to play around too much . The crew jumps around the project instead of finishing items they are working on….

The most unprofessional person I'VE seen is DJT. I personally think the guy in the hat is a craftsman. What you see on the channel isn't always how things always are. If he was unprofessionla, I doubt they'd be in business.
