Installing Hot Racing Shocks on a Kyosho Mini-z 4x4

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is the installation process using my 3d printed kit available on ebay to mount Hot Racing shocks on a Kyosho Mini-z 4x4.
NOTE: I ONLY USE GREEN ONES IN THE VIDEO SO YOU CAN SEE THEM. THE ONES ON MY EBAY AND ETSY SITES ARE BLACK.
The shocks i used are Hot Racing SXTF326R01 Reservoir friction damper scx24
I also used the tiniest little bit of 2000 weight diff oil, per the hot racing instructions on their site, i may try 3000 or even 5000 to see how it does.
I also didn't mention in the beginning of the video that I made the parts in bright green so they show up better, the parts on my ebay listing are black.

    I installed my Jimny lift kit and added the hex adapters, Beast mode has begun... I am debating getting this kit or the lift blocks... either will solve my slight (under heavy power) body rub... I may even get both... Sleekun, you have awesome products imo....

    thank you sir i appreciate that! i also have some shock spacers which i used to sell but then just started including in the kit with the roof racks.......i may post them back for sell individually as i like them to help with general sag or torque twist etc....obviously they aren't needed if you go the Hot Racing shock route but there are definitely options! Can't wait to see beast mode feel free to send me a pic on my ebay or etsy account if you like i'll add to my facebook customer gallery page!

    @@SleekRC I got my Rubicon, finally had time to install the hot racing shocks with your mounts. I had to watch your video 3 times and get an hex key that fits the hardware. The mounts work well with the Rubicon. I would suggest using the softer black springs that come with the shocks. The steering linkage from the servo is stretched to its limit and have to trim it out to max setting. Thanks again, looks great and doesn't bounce with the new shocks.

    Hey thanks! great question on the hot racing spring kit and suspension blocks, they will fit, however, you may want to source some slightly longer screws to make sure they are long enough to hold the suspension blocks and lower mount system for the conversion kit together good. Thanks again!

    i think i just responded to you on ebay. the hot racing shocks that are recommended in the listing come with the long screws used to mount top and bottom. if those shocks aren't used you may need to source some long "thin" screws to use.

    i haven't had any for it, in my opinion steel links adds weight down lower and prevents any bending or binding of the links during hard articulation, but I know a lot of people like metal links. I'd love to know what you think about them when you get them!!!

  • @SleekRC

    @SleekRC

    3 жыл бұрын

    if you leave the stiff silver springs on it may give it a little extra height, but i started running the softer black springs that came with the shocks and it actually lets it "droop" a little and has a really soft feel to the suspension which i think i like better than super stiff.

    the amount of available travel is about the same as stock, however, i currently have the stiffer springs that come with the HT set on it and they are nearly too stiff even with the adjuster all the way up so it doesn't let the chassis flex as much as stock.....i had the softer springs on it shortly in the beginning and they seemed too soft, but i think i'm going to put the softer springs back on and maybe some heavier weight diff oil and adjust the spring limiter some to see if that helps let it flex better but keep a decent ride height.
