The reason your car sounds like that is because your gear mesh is too tight
Just got the fusion pro 2300kv motor and ESC for my trx4 today, threw on some proline hyrax predator compound tires. Thing is an absolute beast, crawls anything at any pace you want and the built in bec gave my upgraded steering servo the power it needs, super fast and strong now.
Got the green one put in the same motor and servo and added metal rims with wheel weights....it's a beast love it

Very nice, green one looks good 👍🏼
The way I've always remembered esc wiring is 1 to turn 2 to burn
Nice upgrades! Should be great for that truck!

For sure, it’s a big truck so having some extra power doesn’t hurt. Now I need a drift car 😎🤗
I was into R/C cars and truck with a dealership in the 80's tell 1996. We started out racing with the Grasshoppers cars and the last of it was with the Traxes Blue Eagles. Monster truck where Traxxas Sledge Hammes, and Tamiya Clod Busters. Back then we could buy a Traxxas Hawk with bearings, brushed motors build it ourselves with 2 -NICAD batteries, charger and radio for under $300.00 dollars. I didn't leave the hobby it left me. I really don't know how people can afford the Hobby anymore. I loved them all like I said the hobby left me. Some bodies got a lot more money than I'll ever have. Old Combat Vet From 1970.

It sucks having to look at your trucks sitting on the workbench broken down and no way to afford parts to fix them let alone upgrade them
I’m watching this a year later I’m sure you have figured the noise out by now, it sounds like the gear mesh is pretty tight to be home

It's cool. I'm going to watch the video well~^^
Just a heads up, the stock Rx from Redcat in the Gen 8 will bind to a FlySky. It's a Flysky protocol Rx.
Sweet. That's what I have in my Falcon.

Nice, seems like a great motor so far
Nice video ❤ I would have ran the motor wires under the tower brace
That’s the worst thing about rtr trucks, you start with changing motor,esc and servo. But the upgrade makes it a total new truck, especially the HW Pro. I just installed that in my Ecto and it’s so good

Thanks for the video. I just installed and followed your steps but it just keeps coming unbound. Any ideas?
I have mine in my Element Ecto and it's definitely NOT that noisy. It should be more quiet than that I would think. Hope you can get it right. I love mine!!

@@RC4all The noise has nothing to do with the motor. The Redcat transmission is known to be just about the loudest on the market. I picked up a TC8 Marksman that has the same transmission as the gen8 and it is REALLY loud as well.

The axe setup is a great powerful motor, but these fusion pros are even smoother and just as powerful.
I have a gen8 version1 that makes same sound. I packed the trans, gearbox, and diffs with grease it helps a bit. I put the 1800 kv version in mine but then they announced the 2300 kv 2 weeks later… grrr.
Nice video, thx for the upload. Is that the same program card as the 1080 ESC? I don't think it's Loud bcz of the motor, I think it's just the Gen8. Mine is still stock and just as loud.
@RC4all
Жыл бұрын
Yes basically the same program card, I did end up adjusting the gear mesh and seems to be a bit quieter now 👍🏼
@ConditionZero76
Жыл бұрын
It's the same program card but you have to use the new programming sticker sheet that comes with the fusion pro because the programming is completely different, otherwise you'll be all messed up if you try programming a fusion Pro directly from the 1080 quickrun card . Fusion pro has 13 parameters of tuning just make sure you use the new sheet
Do the receipt trick to mesh the gears
definetly gear mesh to tight thats the sound its making.
Will the Hobbywing Quicrun Fusion PRO 2300KV FOC System 2in1 also fit in a redcat gen7 sport.
😉👍
I noticed you put your stock pinion back on backwards on the new motor. Maybe that's why it sounds like something is wrong??
I have a redcat gen 9 and forward is so loud, while reverse, is smooth and silent. Ive heard several othors state the same. Ant suggestions or thoufhts? Thanks everyone!
You didn't set the gear mesh when you installed the pinion gear, and you didn't centre the servo before you installed it. also, set the end points on the servo before you kill it.
Can that setup be run with NiHM batteries?
How would you connect an holmes Hobbies SHV800 servo to that motor?
@RC4all

Great question, I’d send a message to Holmes for that one
Gear mesh is way too tight, hence “the noise” Mine is very quiet.. Nice upgrade
I upgraded mine with Spektrum and still noisy. I think it’s the gearing that makes it noisy. Fix it and let us know. Can’t stand the sound of mine

Yes gearing may be it for sure 👍🏼 you definitely hear it coming 😆
Do you have to charge the receiver? Or can I just change the motor alone
@cd-pu5uv
Жыл бұрын
You can change just the motor, plugs right into the receiver and ESC is built in to motor so you can remove the old ESC. Highly recommended upgrade.
@4:50 It looks like you put your pinion gear on backwards; not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Should I get the 180 or the 270 degree servo for my gen8 v2?

Redcat gears are loud as is but yours is whining on top of it which is a clear indicator your mesh is way to tight

Rc reviews put the 2300kv in a 6x6 hauler and that thing was doing donuts. 3300 is probably just overkill honestly. Nothing wrong with overkill though. Lol.

@@RC4all A trick someone shared with me was to loosen the motor and insert a folded strip of notebook paper (double thick) between the pinion and spur and roll it back and forth several times to shape the paper. Then pull the motor tight to the "shimmed" spur and tighten the screws. Obviously, remove the paper and enjoy. Has worked perfect many times with both 32 and 48 pitch gears. I've got the green V2 and was looking at that same motor to upgrade. Thanks for the video!
