In this video, I show you how to replace the front brake pads on a 1983 Yamaha XJ650 Maxim. This should be almost the same for all the XJ650 Maxim models.

Very Helpful video and thank you for posting it. on that 12mm bolt that goes through the caliper and into the fork, there was a nut on it that I had to get an open ended wrench on and there is a plastic white cover that goes over the end of the 12mm bolt head that just pulls right out with a flat head screw driver. That was the only difference when I did my 81 xj650j.

Just wanted to ask where you get your parts for your bike? I just came upon a 1982 xj650 and I'm trying to get it road ready. I'm decent with cars but this is my first bike and idk where to even start looking for parts
