Pearl white on this build would look awesome. Toyota’s Wind Chill Pearl is one of the best looking white paints IMO.
That was a good move changing out the rear cover. That B&M will allow the rear to hold more fluid than factory and thus the fluid to stay cooler and longevity too. It's coming along well. Who cares what the outside looks like she is all motor and goodies..thanks for sharing Kyle. Have a good day or night of you read this.

Aniq Hanafi I don’t know yet, I haven’t really wanted to work on it with everything else I have going on. Once this truck gets on the road, I’m hoping I can be freed up a bit to get some more work done on the 240.

I'm looking at doing this exact swap. There's typically 3-5 of them at the junkyards I go to. I'm going this way because it has the right bolt pattern and I can buy brake parts at the local auto parts store.

Sad to see it's going to be white, but since you mentioned it; pearl white and metalic gray. I bet you could find some Bravada body moldings to make work, too.
where did you get the rear sway bar for the rear diff ?? . swapping mine as well and thought about adding a sway bar as well.
Just found your channel so my question is do you have contact information for the company you got the rear end from? I looked on Google maps but no results.
01 and newer S-10 Blazer front brakes are dual piston caliper's. Bolt in upgrade
White/Gray would look sweet. I am really enjoying your builds. You are doing a great job.

Would ZR2 calipers have bolted up better? The backing plate mounting bracket and spacing is different on ZR2 axle housings.
You should watch the banks performance KZread videos that goes over how these diff covers are bad

I agree! I am saying that because I am an engineer. The original was designed to allow the flow of oil to the carrier bearings. The aftermarket covers have no provisions in the design to allow oil to flow directly to the bearings...

How much was the rear end? I'm looking at 9" from quick performance setup for an s10. They're 680 for housing and axles. 1800 complete with disc brakes and center section of choice

Sooooooo. Late to the vid but had this same problem on a 10 blot. Turned out being the pinion shim. Not set right you will have to load one side of the carrier with more shims, aaaaaand now your Axle is short on one side and long on the other.
those teaser shots of the monte carlo ss/ z-28 rim are killing me. i hope they go on the s-10. those are some of my favorite gm factory rims

There's a 1/4" difference in axles length between disc/drums
been watching and subbed since day one. why do you NOT have more subs collectively we all need to figure out how to build your subs up

Digging the white on gray (maybe gunmetal with gunmetal rims to go with?) and red interior. I think a red paint job with a red interior might be too much. Great content as always!

Interesting, the B&M cover looks a lot like and has similar design features to the T/A Differential girdle cover. How are you liking the Duragrip diff?

AnthonyJ350 Yeah man, it’s very similar. There’s a handful of companies that make covers like this. Hopefully it won’t be too long before I find out! There’s a specific break in procedure that I need to do for the rear end so it’s going to get gentle treatment for a little bit at least.

@@saabkyle04 Right on, I like that the cover has the factory curve and isn't flat. Gale Banks did a did on it, on how flat back covers aren't that great. Awesome videos as always man!
Look for 96 and newer S-10 and S-10 Blazer with 4.3 and manual comes from factory with 54.5" 8.5 rear.

I have a few suggestion for this build tint the windows and upgrade to LED lights
I have video suggestion put your who entire gmc jimmy serries into one video called restoreing a gmc jimmy in 10 mins like throtl
Kyle nothing boring, heck I’d watch live/actual time building. With so many potential rear axle choices why not use something factory like a Hummer H3 Alpha axle with the 5.3 Vortec? Or newer S10 with the 4.3 or the older Chevy Typhoon axle? Custom is cool but, where do you draw the line? custom axle might as well go with a custom 5 link w/coils for smoother ride and custom fully boxed frame. Just wondering the thought process

Thank you! As I said, the 8.5 was a factory rear end, it was just modified to fit my truck. I think they also used 8.5s in Silverados, but I might be wrong. I was going for the "simplest" route with the least amount of modifications needed.

How much wider is the 8.5 rear end in stock form?
Have you thought of boxing in the frame? Since you'll be making a lot more power.
Hey! We are doing kind of the same thing to a 2000 gmc sonoma over on our channel. I'd love to hear your thoughts. What accessory drive are you running on this? Keep doing your think man! Love your stuff!
I will never use a gasket on the differential cover again. I did that on two different trucks and even with proper torque they started seeping over time. Every time I have installed the differential cover with rtv they have never leaked.
Zr2 did come with disc brakes allready.
Really missing the progress on this cool project.Can you do an led swap,like you did on the Jimmy

Hey Kyle, glad to see your doing fine amidst this pandemic, hope you're doing great. So I have a question, why would you delete ABS? I understand that adding it would be quite a bit of work but converting it to 4-wheel ABS would probably make it a whole lot safer and stop even better. Have you thought about converting it to a 4-wheel system from a later model truck?

No, the ABS on these trucks only worked on the original rear drum brakes anyway. It's not worth it in my opinion. I'm used to driving stuff without ABS>

@@saabkyle04 Well I was talking about a 4 wheel and system from like a 1994 Jimmy or Blazer. Those stopped better than the 2 wheel system. It is however understandable if you wouldn't want to as it is not an easy swap.
What website did you go on to get the rear end?
it should be super cool if you use the GMC Syclone Fender, but modified with new decals (with the same font style)
Do you have a 350 small block ? How many cubic inch ?
I don’t care what color you paint the truck, but I would leave it the original red paint.

What brand rear sway bar are you using? I’ve never seen one mounted that way with essentially no ‘ Links ‘ just bushings.

Thank you! I had to give up on the crew cab. It was too advanced for me and I'm spread too thin as it is at the moment. One of my friends is currently building it for themselves.

kyle, i dare you to not paint it, leave it, put black rims and just make it all work perfect but let it have that very used look. i love imperfect things sometimes. gets you to use them a lot more than the perfect stuff that you're always concerned with.
