    Hey Zach, love the videos and great job, another suggestion, I know the cushions will help deaden the noise, but I think adding another sound dampening material would be pretty easy with those flat surfaces and would keep the noise down, there seem to be many available waterproof materials, and would make music and conversations better.

    Hey Zach, another Zach here, just a quick suggestion, not sure if you were going to relocate those two handles or not, but it would be more convenient to get out of the water if you put another handle on the back by the ladder, may need more fiberglass reinforcement, but it seems you have plenty.

    Merry Christmas! The foil really worked good eh! Did it cause a lot of extra drag?

  • @ZachsGarage1

    @ZachsGarage1

    3 жыл бұрын

    When I had the trim as high as you can safely go at idle it wasn't a huge noticable difference in drag, just a little more. I kind of was hoping it would slow it down some because I have to the have my idle on the high side

    As always great content. I have the same one on my Mercruiser 3.0. Faster plane and turn. Great for pulling tubes or whatever. What size and type propeller are you using? Have a Merry Christmas and New Years

    I also found the foil made my 3.0 plane out better, until the cav plate broke at the two bolt holes. The plate is not really made to handle the added load of the fin. I found equal planing performance by going to a 4 blade aluminum prop, michigan vortex. Just drop down in pitch an inch from three blade.

    Supposed to help the prop from cavitating if you don't have it trimmed down enough, also helps to plane out faster

    @@ZachsGarage1 OK. That's the drawback with mercrusiers. They loose alot of hp thru the stern drive compare to an outboard. That boat may be a little bigger wider heavier but a johson 90hp outboard rigged to it may be a few mph less but better shot out the hole & mpg for a 1.6l verses that 3.0l.
