Installing a sliding patio door

Hello everyone,
I was asked by my neighbor if I could help him replace his old patio door.
A few minutes later I returned from Home Depot with this Plygem door!

Thank you, informative video. We had 72 by 82 door that we are replacing with 73 by 80 and your wood filling in the gap was what i was looking for!!

I've only done it once or twice in my life I definitely don't do it as a living but I know that you can easily take two screws and pull that other whole piece of glass out to which makes it a lot easier to yank the frame around and not have to worry about the class but okay

It’s true, the fixed panel can also be removed. Depending on the manufacturer, it will have different locations where the fixed panel is anchored to. Probably best to do this if you are attempting a solo install. We had more than enough hands handling frame and panel to easily move it around.

Are you happy with the Plygem Sliding door ? I was looking to purchase one, any feedback would be appreciated.

I’ve purchased many Plygem doors and windows. I would say their products are a good balance or quality and price. There are better brands out there, but they are way more expensive, for example Pella.

Hi you didn’t screw the frame to the ground?

No screws in the ground, but we did add a lot of caulking to the bottom of the frame just to keep the bottom sealed off to small bugs.
