I have built two street lamps in my driveway one is 75 W metal halide and the other is an LED motion sensor light. They are both on wooden bases with wheels so they can be moved around. Awesome video!

This is amazing! As a personal preference, I would have used HPS or MH fixtures photocell controlled. They make photocontrol timers that have a timer built in them so all you have to do is use a screwdriver and turn to your desired time preferences which saves energy.

Nice work, Cool series. If possible can you share where you get the light and pole from? links would be awesome if you can manage. I want to do exactly this X3 in my backyard.

I found the pole on marketplace leftover from a job so I don’t have a link. I’m not sure where it came from originally

They make something called a "shorting cap" that plugs into the NEMA twist lock receptacle which basically connects the line to load all the time if the light is switched elsewhere

The color black attracts less cold which is probably why it was easier to strip the black wires. Also is that electrical tape on your finger?

  • @nics-systems-electric

Maybe sometimes just different colours are different or they are manufactured at a different time and yes that was tape because I cut the side of my finger

Do you have any grip strippers. I used the ones you have for years and once I switched to grip strips I never moved back it’s like icing a cake. Kline makes a good pair

  • @nics-systems-electric

They seem kind of cool not sure how well they would deal with this cold insulation that you pretty much have to cut off I’ve used them only twice or so and I like the style of normal strippers a little better but maybe I’m just used to that

  • @uniteddrones7626

@@nics-systems-electric took a bit of time getting used to, I used them because a had to break open insulation on 20 gauge wire and not break the wire, A knife would work but just didn’t wanna risk it. Does that type of job perfectly. Similar how you strip the wire bonding the boxes
