Published upon request - thanks! I'm in the middle of building the compact workbench and have the same fence to go with the same 70 year old table saw.

I installed my Delta fence today and the installation is just as easy as in this video. My fence was for an older 2 HP contractor type saw with a 27x40 cast iron table. Once finished with installing the rails, I put the fence on to check for proper alignment with miter slots and with blade. It was dead on right from the box. I ran a couple of long boards to check for blade burns on the wood. None. A very nice, high quality table saw fence that's easy to install.

I found it was pretty easy to drill holes through the cast iron and use the existing holes on the rail. Also, I'm using the original wings on my 1969 113, and some of those holes lined up perfectly already. Either way, I agree, it is a huge upgrade for these saws, which are great machines that last forever, but came with poor fences.

I don't know why but wanted to keep cast iron untouched so drilled holes in the rail instead. Also I added a paddle button in front of the saw and soft start module to it. Enjoying every time that I use saw.

@@MrStukov Nice! That's a goal of mine too, but I'm still using the old stand and there's not really a great place to attach the new switch.

How did you get the 0 to line up with your line without moving the entire rail over? I don’t see how that is possible without removing the measuring tape and installing a new one at the 0 mark. You didn’t address this in your video Thx).

Hi, thank you for the video, very helpful. I just bought this off someone, and it’s missing the template. Is it possible to know the distance from the table top to the top of front rail?

Hi, it's the same for the both front and back rail 5/8 inch

Thanks Mr. Stukov! I see you aligned the right side 0 marker by using the 5 3/8" width of the fence. Did the left side 0 marker align automatically? Instruction manual says start front rail from the start of left wing - I have same old saw with wings not custom table like you. So, when you clamped the left side of the front rail, how did you decide on the starting point placement of the front rail?

  • @MrStukov

Hi, left side 0 will be almost at their place with small displacement equal width of your blade, so you should touch right side of the blade with fence and then adjust left side marker. It has two small screws on each side, so loosen it and put left marker at real zero and then tighten it back. Regarding starting point for the front rail I don't refer to the left side of the wing because I have custom setup. You could try my method by placing zero point of the measuring tape on it suggested position. 5 3/8" from the right side of the blade. It gives you correct placement. May be in your case left side of the rail will be exactly at the left wing start position.

@@MrStukov Thanks again! I used your method of marking the 0 marker on the rail with 5 3/8" calculation. However, I was worried that I will have to drill underneath the front rail (L bracket) - if I don't also align the front rail with the tube rail. So first I marked (painters tape and marker) the offset between tube and the L-front rail - then I followed the rest of your method. It worked out and all my 0 markers are correct. Only issue I have is a play/wobble when the fence glides over the tube rail. Not sure how I can fix that.

@@MrStukov In your video at 3:39 - see how just before you lower the handle it wobbles. Then again after 3:40 to 3:44 you slide and lock again the fence wobbles. I thought that should not happen. I see at 3:46 your miter slot (on table saw face) is not aligned to fence left face - could be just my illusion :) I have seen people using fingers to tap and do fine adjustments. If fence wobbles, I am afraid that tapping will make it non-parallel to the blade. Right now I do agree once you lock it seems parallel - I will update more as I use more. There is also a "Adjustments" section in the manual that I will try to see if it helps with the wobble and miter saw alignments. Thanks!

When you lock down the fence at 3:38, it visibly goes out of square. Is that a problem you're noticing or was it fixed? Thinking about getting this fence but not if it always does that.

Yes however this fence is fully adjustable. You can tweak the square with the adjustment screws on either slide of the fence. (Different from the white plastic screws that he adjusted the tilt with in the video).

It pulls itself straight when you lock it down. As far as I can see the rear rail is just for the fence to ride on and keep it from rubbing the table, so your pulling the fence rail up against the mounted rail in the front. Took me six hours to install mine on an old Craftsman table saw and I had to drill some holes to get it done but it's a nice upgrade. If any of you have been using the old Craftsman table with it's original rip fence you're gonna love this thing.
