I’ve got the 2022 Wrx with the dual screen head unit. If they ever make a carbon fiber replacement for the flat black it’s gonna be a must have for me.

I just found out you can run guages on these head units seems like a great deal!

Do these headunits work well with amps and pre-outs? I love the size but I swapped out all of the speakers and have an Alpine amp that powers all of the speakers and the sub. Not a competition system wonder how this will compare to my $1000 Kenwood headunit.

Please let us know if we are able to update our firmware to the newer one. Have been wondering about that

My 28 pin harness did not fit the 28 pin on the idoing one ,anyone know where I can get a adapter harness that fits the idoing one ?

Hey, I had a question about wrx’s. Can I add an exhaust and everything be fine with it?

The problem I had/have with my idoing head unit was getting everything to fit with the star link box. It's bulky AF and doesn't fit nicely with the rest of the head unit so I really had to force it in there with some gaps showing.

You need to put it below the HVAC dials underneath. I found it to be the best spot where it doesn't interfere with the fitment of the headunit.

I don’t like the look of those. Makes the dash look too aftermarket. One of the main reasons why I like the idoing is because it looks very OEM.

Setup looks amazing. Quick question I see you didn't take apart the dash to remove the unit. Did you not install the mount bolts on each side?

The idoing just snaps into place. Stock unit is bolted in which takes much longer to remove/install.

How do you check for carbon fiber pattern direction primary to purchase? sometimes the preview image show a direction, then when you receive the part, it goes the different direction.

Yes that’s where I’ve had it. No issues at all.

They are stock. 2015-17 STI came with “carbon” trim. 2018+ they changed over to the gloss black.

Lately my iDoing head unit has been disconnecting off of carplay and my music will cut off every few seconds it never did this till recently . Is there any update I need to do for the head unit ?

I would check the wiring to make sure everything is securely plugged in. If everything looks ok, I would reach out to idoing to see what may be causing the issue.

@@Scoobyfreak86 i bought mine second hand from a dude with a 2016 sti, and i have a 2017. i dont know if he just didnt give me all of the harness or what. i reached out to idoing as well to see if i could repurchase the hardness.

I noticed you had your GPS antenna double sided taped to the top of the iDoing head unit. Does it pick up a signal inside the dash like that?

Yes I have no issues with signal. Been on top of the unit like that since I installed it in 2018.

I’m the same way with carbon fiber pieces on my car .. if the weave direction is different I’d rather not have it lol

It’s in the settings somewhere. It’s been a while since I’ve done it, but I know it can be turned off.

Hmmm yours didn’t come with a carbon fiber piece for the hazards button area? Mine came with two actually

There are a lot of wires in the way. It’ll take some time to get everything out of the way but it’ll fit perfectly

I have the idoing for my 20 base wrx and absolutely love it. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is the USB adapter to retain the USB Ports in the center console..and for some reason my 12v port under the headunit doesn't get power either. Any thoughts or tips to resolve it? Would really appreciate it!

Did you plug the 12v port back in? Otherwise, the headunit wouldn’t effect that since it’s an anti rely different harness.

@@Scoobyfreak86 I couldn't find the plug that fit the 12v, but maybe I'll have to go back in and look again. Still no luck with retaining power to the USB ports in the center console though.
