Installed Slime Tube Sealant On My Lectric XP Fat Tire Ebike

=============================
In this video, I'll show you how to install the Slime Tube sealant to your bike. Specifically in the Lectric XP Ebike's fat tire tube. For this size tire (fat tire tube 20x4) I added 8 ounces of slime to each tire. Additionally, I'll show you guys how I was able to unclog the dried up Slime in the tube that was preventing me from adding more slime to the tube. It was so clogged up that I couldn't even pump air into the tire.
The process of adding this Slime Tube Sealant to your bike is not that hard, so I hope that this video is helpful.

Couple comments for you. I have a fat tire bike also and even though they appear to be thicker than your average tire I was getting punctures from a weed where I live called goat heads because of some sharp thorns on them, and I can tell you the slime works. I might come home from riding and find two or three spots the next morning where the slime has come through and sealed them up. Without it I was getting flats. Slime also makes a canister that is air/CO2 charge. Forces the slime into the tire and no problems at the valve. I may have overcharged mine though. if you start to feel a looping effect from the tires especially the front tire it's more than likely you may have put in too much. I think I may have on mine. I can feel it in the front fork pulsating a little bit probably because its sloops around as the wheel spins. One way you can tell, is you will feel it thru the front fork and if you look over the handlebars while riding you can see the tire looping a little bit. Or while you have the bike upside down, stand behind the tires while you spin them, and site down the tire and you will see it doesn't spin in the round. Also another reason it loops could be that the bead has not properly seated all the way around the rim also.. You my know this already but I thought I would just throw it in. Otherwise Slime is working great on small punctures. Good luck, punctures are a pain.

If you got a clog, means you did it slow. Remedy is use a drill bit same size as your shredder valve tip, drill slowly, it will remove that clog. First remove the valve then drill/clear that slime, put back valve. Also no need to remove tires during sliming or putting liner. I did put a slime and a liner on my lectric to avoid that long walk flat tire.

That happened to me. And the tube is still slightly clogged. I finally was able to get it slightly unclogged where I could put air back into the tube. However I cannot get a correct pressure read on the slightly clogged tube. I tried to see if they have a preslimed tube for my fat tire bike. I found out that there is no preslimed tube I can buy for my 20x4 fat tire bike. When I get the tube fully unclogged I will not be trying to put the rest of the slime into that tube again. Glad it worked for this guy.

Same here with the back tire - Slime just stopped going in. I'm still able to pump AIR in & out, but SLIME will no longer go in. VERY WEIRD. The front tire was very easy to slime. So, with the valve out, I carefully poked it with a toothpick - still nothing. Gonna try cotton swab and maybe hot metal poker/skewer?

This is the only video out there that talks about this issue. It must be a flawed tube from the manufacturer. I had the same exact issue. For me, all of the air escaped before I could undo the valve core so I had no way of knowing that there is a clog. I proceeded to add slime but nothing would go in. I poked around in the valve (again, yes the valve core was removed), and tried again. Nothing. I tried putting air in and it wouldn't take that either! Then I tried the heat method, that didn't work for me. I then used a drill and drilled out some material at the base of the valve. I'm thinking it's excess material left during manufacturing. Then I tried adding slime again and it worked this time. Put the tube back on the rim and finished adding slime. Then added air and it's good now.

@@Marlon_Torres Yer a better man than I am brother! I had my lectric for about a year.I didnt ride that much. Only had about 150 mi on it and then the back tire blew. I toyed with the idea of removing the tire. But first I thought I would try to snake the tube out while it was still on the bike. I was able to find a tiny hole. I mean TINT. And the way it leaked you would think it had been slashed with a butcher knife. I would fill it and before I could take it down and roll it in the garage it was flat! But Im thinking I will add some slime as well. But you scared me a little with that clogg! WHat caused it? Was thevalve still in there? Was it the wrong angle? How important is it to have valve at 11 o clock? Thanks Good video.

I heard good things about it and i used it when i had a slow leak in my 20 x 4" fat tire bike tube. It stopped the slow leak instantly. However, i later rode over some glass and my tire was bald and i got about four regular flats as the wheel rolled over the glass, and my tire deflated in about thirty seconds. As i was riding, i was waiting to see if the Slime would work. It didn't work. I had to push my heavy e-bike home. When i got home and removed the tube, all the inside of the tire and around the tube was full of Slime. Very greasy and messy The holes were not that big, but still, the Slime squirted all over the inside of the tire. Before i could patch the holes with a glue and patch kit, i had to degrease the inner tube.. Now, if i was on the road,.far from anywhere, and this happened, and i relied solely on the Slime, i would be in trouble. In addition, if this happened and i had a patch kit on hand, i would have to bring along some cleaning agent to clean away all the slime because as i applied the patches, Slime was oozing out as i pressed on the patches to hold them in place after gluing. So, i had to try to squeeze the tube and move as much Slime as possible away from the hole so that when i applied the patch, no Slime would ooze out and interfere with the glue under the patch. What a headache. The Slime is still not doing the job and when i get a flat now, i have all this extra cleaning job to do just to apply a patch. I won't buy or use this Slime anymore. I wish i could get it out of my tube. Since then, one of the patches sprung a leak and again the tire went flat, and again Slime was everywhere. Same cleaning job, again. I think i have to buy a new inner tube. I've been "SLIMED"! (think of Ghostbusters)

Slime Tube Sealant seeks out and instantly seals tread area punctures up to 1/8" (3mm). When a puncture occurs, our patented sealant is carried directly to the puncture. The pressure of the escaping air forces the particles into the opening, where they build up and intertwine to form a long-lasting, flexible plug. Instantly, air loss is blocked and a flat tire is prevented.

@@Marlon_Torres I've been working on bikes since I was 8 years old. That would be 1968. These e bikes are amazing. And since the batteries are getting better and cheaper I could afford one. I need to know more about the electrical systems on these e bikes. I have had mine for 2 weeks. I did a lot of research and I bought the ecotric hammer. I bought it at upzy it was a good deal less than 1390 dollars. I'm not a troll I don't usually post comments like that. I need to find out about the bearings in the front end because I'm not familiar with those and my front end is loose and I think it might need another ring or maybe I can just loosen the hex head bolts that hold on the handlebars. I spent almost every last dime I had to buy that bike. I lost my left leg in November due to osteomyelitis. The first time I took off I did not realize how fast it goes. I have a short street I was at the corner before I knew it. And those fat tires are different to steer. I have the old school handlebars. I think I need to change them. Also I am 5 foot 8 and I need a different seat Pole if you're shorter you cannot lower it because of the spring shock thing on the seat. I don't see any way to fix the issue other than cut it off shorter and has someone weld it Maybe. So I will need to get a regular seatpost which this point in life is impossible nearly. 27.2 by 350 mm. But I love my hammer bike I'm used to it now I have 90 miles on it. I don't even have a driver's license. In New York you can go 20 miles an hour by the law with pedal-assist but I don't understand cuz I don't even pedal I just hit the throttle. I was messing around with the controller on the handlebars and I only have three pedal assist settings but I got the information I need from ecotric. They are not easy to work with when I'm trying to get the warranty and I bought it from upzy and I don't have the number I need to register it. I hope you have a good day our world is so f***** up getting out on the ebike is a great stress reliever for me. And it's my only transportation after I get the seat pole I can hook my wagon a Cannondale to the bike and go camping shopping whatever. I need to make a video also. I need to get a handlebar camera holder. I don't know what kind of music you like but I got a lot on my Channel that I did of bands and I don't have any commercials that I know of that's how I want it. It's about art and music and I got to work on my channel. I gave up trying to get views when KZread changed a long time ago. I guess you get perks if you're a KZread whatever they call it partner?

Why didnt you just leave it on the wheel? Also believe youre suppose to spin the wheel spin the wheel slowly so that will evenly coat. I still t/y for sharing. Yours the first veiw. Now need get vàlve remover kit and sealer. But pretty sure need spin wheel. I know in a car tire says drive a few miles to make even coat

Paul Eline Hi! I ended up taking it off because I wanted to salvage that tube and since at first I didn't know what was going on with it I figured I'd take it off to examine the tube thoroughly. And yes you are suppose to spin the wheel (per the Slime instructions) which I did, but I didn't show it in the video but I did mention it around (4:20 in the video). That is a very important step. Anyhow, thank you for stopping by my channel and watching.

Installed almost a year ago.Might cost more but they last decades.I been using Mr Tuffy on my mtb tires for years. Why would anybody put that stuff in your inner tube. Yuck!

He did remove the valve core. The valve itself is sealed to the tube. This is a flaw in the manufacturing of the tube. I had the same issue. I basically used a drill to get the excess rubber out of the base of the valve.

Don't need all that slime, it looks like Snot why would you want to put that in your tires?, fat tires almost never get flats anyway. If Somebody can figure out a way to not get a flat in a 2.1 I'll be impressed. For fat tires just buy good quality tubes, make sure there's nothing sharp inside the rim. Then keep your tire pressure below 15 lb,( 10 to 12 lb is good) most likely never get a flat again with fat tire.

I haven't had any issues at all with Slime in my tires ever since I put in my tires on all three of my ebikes, and I completely disagree with you on the tire pressure because the setting your tire pressure really depends on the riding conditions and what you are riding on. For example, you can't have 10psi on concrete and expect your bike to ride as fast and efficient as if you had it to say 25 psi and on the flip side if you ride with 25-30 psi in sandy conditions you're not going to be able to stay on the bike.

@@Marlon_Torres na man talk to your local mountain bike shop about tire pressure on fat tire. Those tires were originally intended to be suspension tires for mountain bikes. The idea to put them on electric bikes came many years later. This is my experience ,I have two fat tire bikes. One electric one non-electric. Non-electric on the street 8 in the front 10 in the back.( slightly muddy up front, but absorbs all the bumps like on a suspension fork) On the electric I go up by 2psi. 10up front 12 in the back, they roll well. Going on four years, about two thousand miles combined + - . Never had a flat with ether bike. Riding nothing but crazy mountain bike trails, with all kinds of thorns, and shoulders with God knows what. Just tubes no liners no slime. But don't take my word for it talk to your local mountain bike shop, ot try to find a mountain bikers that I've been riding those bikes for the last decade they'll tell it's so rare for one of those tires to get a puncture.

@@Marlon_Torres case and point, those tires were never designed to be pumped up past 15 lb. That's why everybody's having issues with flat tires.

@@mjsmjs7905 I'm having trouble with mine, for sure. I thought that the higher the psi, the more resistant the tire is to puncture.
