You should look into a motorcycle swivel ball. It pivots left to right so you can lean without worrying about binding up. It also sits higher than a regular ball. I'm looking at doing this same setup.

If you flip the bracket over, you can then flip the ball so your trailer tongue won’t hit the bracket. No grinding required.

I tried that, but the hitch only goes on one way. I'm having the it rebuilt right now so it can tow a trailer for reals. I'll do a video of it after it's retooled.

Taller trailer tires for more clearance too would be awesome

I was wondering if you happened to install the hitch mount upsidedown. Then you wouldn't have had the ball clearance issues

Good thought, but the hitch mount only installs one way. I did try flipping it. All better now with hitch modifications and custom heim joint. Works great.

I would do the Home joint as well, or weld a tab under the top. You definitely need a welder. That’s a pretty awesome trailer. I thought about getting one of those car carriers that you put on top of a minivan and just welding a frame for that but this is cool it’s a legit trailer under it already and kind of the same thing. Hopefully if you get rear ended those wood bumpers will hold up, I would send them really nice and stain them to match your front gate. I like the silver rack on the front of the trailer made to hold the pony keg as well.

Pony Keg placement is key. Next video is the Heim install. Stay tuned. I just saw another motorcycle trailer with disco lights sell for $300. So they are out there. I'm thinking a wooden 'Squatch Rocket' stenciled bumper added to the 2x4's.

@@OffGridandWhiskey 🙌🏼 Team Sasquatch. I’m glad you went for the Heim joint. That sort of worked but I don’t think it would’ve lasted too long that way. With the ball being that high it wouldn’t bet that bottom tab pretty bad eventually I think. Plus if you’re off Roading and drop the bike then you start bending and breaking stuff come out at home joints on much smarter move. I’d still like to see you get a welder. You were talking about putting a plate across the top of the back to stiffen all that up. That’s exactly what I would do I would put a plate across the top with a bit of a moon shape around the tire And continued that over the back to be the plate to mount the ball or the Heim joint system, I would’ve use a nice thick piece that can handle the twisting and torque on there someone and gusset it well before the gentleman from Oklahoma, then I would have use the existing bottom hole where the ball is mounted now for the truck nuts. 😂

I wonder if that bracket would fit my Honda crf230m swing arms or will I have to build my own from scratch I'm building a backwoods adventure bike out of it would be great to be able to pull a small trailer or sled with extra gear in the outback? Any information thanks I like your rig

Thanks for watching. I'm currently modifying the hitch. Adding more steel. Beefing it up to make it more trailer tow worthy. Video of upgrades coming soon. I'd just build my own. Too many unknowns. A Tdub has a wide swing arm. Use the design I have as a template. Definitely use a heim coupler instead of a ball. Thanks! The Heim Joint build video is being edited. It has a full regulation bar. I'm gonna jack that trailer up and put 33" Buckshot Mudders!

Just had another thought. Do any of the joints have vertical movement? I think you may need it especially with the Heim joint adding more tongue between the TW rear wheel and the trailer wheels. Rough ground, whoops, short steep mounds could be problem otherwise.

Can't believe such a simple design was so flawed from the manufacturer. Such a disappointment. I'd rather test my welding skills and try my own hand at making one. A used welder and some scrap metal would be a lot cheaper than that hitch and shipping. Especially to the Great White North. What could possibly go wrong? 🤔🤣
