I owned a Focus some weeks ago. And the only thing I miss is the USB port. Thank you so much for this video. I lokks so easy to exchange the stereo. But I got a question. You used the AUX button to switch to USB. What about my old AUX connection? Do I loose it or can I switch to my AUX cord by pressing the AUX button again?

I'm struggling to get the cdplayer back in properly. There seems to be something stopping the bottom of the radio pushing all the way back. I suspect it's that white or black nipple on the back. Anyone had this issue or know how to help?

Hello! The only system that supports the mini-USB input for this model is the 6000 CD. Unfortunately, the other systems do not allow using the mini-USB input.

Where did you get those ports?

I have this 6000CD MP3+USB OEM Stereo in my focus and was wondering where I could get a manual for it.

In order to connect a subwoofer you will need a LOC adapter, for example this one, from Sonic company: www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i331_line-out-converters.html.

It's a guide rail that supports the weight of the radio by fitting into a groove in the back of the dashboard. Stops it from swaying

Great video and I love the song along which reminds me of the game need for speed can’t remember which one though, anyway I’ve had a look at that compartment where to install the USB port but the problem on my focus is that there is no blank, there are wires connected to all 4 squares ! Any idea what should I do ? Should I just push one of them inside and leave it hanging while installing the new USB port ? Cheers

You can use an FM modulator, plenty of tutorials on the internet but it uses your 12v input in the car so you loose that, but there are also FM modulators with an extra usb entry in case you need to charge your phone, gps or else.

Something incorrect here. Cars that have the old rectangular grey radios fitted do not have the screw holes for fitting the later model.

You can just drill or glue nut and screw it on. There are also 2 screws that held the old radio on which can be removed and it won't get in the way. I've done it. The biggest problem is fitting the wire behind the unit, not much room behind as I had a connector wire adapter too unlike this video

Hey guys as said u will need the black plastic rail clips and metal screw clips and use a drill to drill clip hole into dash it's not too bad at all now got a stero off e bay for 45 it's the usb plug which is pricey 4 25 but u will need it

I've plugged in my iPad, iPod and HTC phone with USB cable and with the line in/av cable. No sound comes through on the av. The iPod connected to the stereo i.e. I could navigate through the iPod albums etc but still no sound. It didn't recognise/support my iPad or phone.

USB is only for USB memory sticks. If you have connected it to the AUX input then you should choose it with the AUX button.

I just got a belkin 3.5mm aux to usb-c cable from Argos for £25. It connects from the aux in the glovebox to my Sony Xperia phone and when I press aux button on the stereo I can listen to music from my phone.

Open the glovebox and at the front top left is a white hexagon shaped bit of plastic with a hole. That's the aux socket.

+Sam M this comes from their EU warehouse in Ukraine, and using their shipping charges it comes up more than 70-80€..I live in Croatia, and the unit it 60€.. and the distance is arround 800km.... only thing is that its more then 2kg. probably because of that... but again, few days ago i bought 3 thule bike racks from Slovenia with free shipping (around 10kg).

Most people don’t want to connect a usb stick. What most people actually do is use Bluetooth and Spotify.

No TP/AF option on the radio The text on the display doesn't scroll Sometimes it just "forgets" the last song it played Pretty crap "refurbishment" if you ask me.
