    Installing on a 2024 Rivian R1T today. Not noted in the video is that the rear plastic cover has a doubledouble-sided, rubber gasket or tape holding the inside edge to the body frame. I’m planning to use some 3M VHB tape as a replacement since I have it on hand, but it might be good to mention that a replacement for this tape is not included for those that would not have it on hand.

    Thanks for the detailed installation video! Sorry if I missed it somewhere in this video but here's my question. It appears to me that in this video, an R1T without the underbody protection was used. If the truck is one with the underbody protection, will it change the way the installation should be done? Will this installation video work for both types of trucks?

    Yes, good eye! The install is exactly the same between both versions. Yes, we have both trucks here, one with RUS and one without.

    what ratchet you guys recommend. I removed the panels, but i can't get the bolt to unscrew with the included bit. it's a little lose so I'm assuming is a T55 instead of a TP55 so I already order that. but can't get the bolts to come out, they feel like glued in placed. tried with impact driver, cheapo wrench and not moving even a little.

  • @Team1EV

    Best to use a 1/2" drive ratchet or breaker bar. These are available at Lowes, or most any tool source of your choice. The Factory bolt is definitely a TP55.

    @@Team1EV I meant that the bit it came in the kit seems to be a T55 not a TP55, as it's a little lose, the TP55 i bought online, does fit very tightly. I was able to get it out with a ratchet wrench that did 100lbs of torque and then it moved. Now i need to do the panel modifications to get them to go back in and protect the bottom from water.

    With the board installed and the panels removed, are the lift points easily accessible? Are the Penske necessary for protection?

  • @Team1EV

    @Team1EV

    Жыл бұрын

    Factory lift points remain accessible with all RMAXX Running Boards & Sliders. The plastic panels provide no protection, they are intended to improve aerodynamics on the bottom of the truck, but only make a very minor impact either way. You can leave the panels off, or trim them for bracket clearance and re-installation.

  • @rob_mason
    @rob_mason Жыл бұрын

    With the plastic panels removed there are all sorts of holes etc visible in the underbody that will accumulate salt, dirt, water etc. Isn't that a concern long term?

  • @Team1EV

    @Team1EV

    Жыл бұрын

    Our preferred install method would be to keep the panels on but cutting the 4" hole for the bracket fitment! That way you still have the coverage with the panels, although it is perfectly alright to keep them off as well! We have not had worries about this! :)

    @@Team1EV yeah that’s my plan plus some tape to close up the holes after install. That seems to be the best approach
