So the error has nothing to do with the version of the app, its failure to run is in fact directly linked to Knox. Since it has now been tripped and will forever remain in the 0x1 state as opposed to the default 0x0 [even if you remove root and relock the bootloader], it might be the case that Samsung Pay might no longer work. Moreover, Samsung Pay will also not work via the Knox Patch app [an Xposed module that allows running Samsung apps on a rooted Samsung device]. All in all, unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be any way out. But as soon as we find one, we will update this section and upload a video on the same right away. So stay tuned!

You need to flash the stock rom and lock the bootloader in the developer settings. Just don't try locking the bootloader on a custom rom or a stock rom for a different region, you will brick your device. Also, be aware that Samsung Knox will be tripped forever, which means you won't be able to use Samsung Pay, Samsung Pass and such, even if you unroot.
