I appreciate you putting up these tutorials and taking the (pain-staking) efforts and time to explain things from scratch. I've been using open source tools for about 10 years now and I have given up installing tools most times because of the complications involved. Most of the times things are explained very quickly because it seems it is 'so-obvious' to the developers of these softwares which is not the case for the people actually using them. Please keep up the good work of explaining things slowly and as detailed as they can be.

Thanks for the nice feedback. These are for my students, who are using Linux for the very first time. I, on the other hand, moved to Linux from Unix (without going via Windows) in the early 90s, so I know that gap between an old Unix/Linux user and a Windows user very well.

I am having trouble about installing paraview: all things go fluently without any error or warning during installation, but when I type in paraview in command line and enter, it returns that: QStandardPaths: wrong permissions on runtime directory /run/user/1000/, 0755 instead of 0700 : CommandLine Error: Option 'simd-mode' registered more than once! LLVM ERROR: inconsistency in registered CommandLine options I am using WSL 2 Ubuntu-22.04. How can I fix this error?
