This is absolutely amazing I've been trying to get visual studio downloaded on my Chromebook for hours just to find out it wasn't possible on an arm based Chromebook. and this real saved me. thank you.

Glad it helped. However, You can also install visual studio without flatpaks. code.visualstudio.com/download choose the arm64 .deb file and you are good to go.

Hi AmSatt, thanks for all your valuable information on chromebooks! I really enjoy watching your videos, especially as you go also into detail when it comes to more interesting things like Linux support. I do have a question though I didn't find any answer yet and I was wondering if you could give me some hinters on it. I am planning to use a chromebook (especially the Lenovo chromebook tablets with Snapdragon 7c gen2) as a client for remote desktop computing. Say I do have some power hungry applications running on a office machine and I want to connect to the office machine and remote control the whole thing. Either using RDP (Windows) or VNC, although I'm not very happy with VNC performance to be honest. What is your take on this?

Sometimes, I also use the HP X2 11 to connect to my office PC using RDP (Android App). It works quite fine as long as you have a steady internet connection. So it will work better in gen2 such as Duet 5 or newly released Duet 3!

@@amsatt Thanks a lot for your input! That's good to know that this works. How is the performance? Comparable to using a "normal" laptop for RDP is working not really fluid because of CPU power?

Nice tutorial! Have you ever tried to install Matlab? Does it run nicely? Matlab and Xflr 5 are the only programs I could really need along with word and excel. I'm asking about the hp since it's the one available in my market. Thank you!

Matlab do not support ARM processors as I am aware of. de.mathworks.com/support/requirements/matlab-system-requirements.html I wished also Matlab would work on these devices. Octave works

I see you had Xournal++ installed there. Can you please share with us if that one worked without issues (including palm rejection)?

Thank you for this video. Does this istallation guide for Linux on ARM- Chipsets also work for x86- based Chromebooks? - I've experiences some unresolvable Problems when I tried to install Flatpak-Linux on Chromebooks with x86, using other web-descriptions.

Thanks, again, for your instructions. It's very good advice. I've installed Master PDF Editor by Flathub using your installation guide, and the application worked very satisfying on my Acer Chromebook 713 (Core i5 Prozessor).

Can you try Box64/Box86 on lenovo duet? It would be nice to see and use 3dmark 2000 as test application.

Hello, following your instruction, I try to install flacon in my chromebook HP x360 13b, mediatek kompanio 1200. I believe this is ARM64. It looks successfully installed but when start, it says error. Do you know what to do to fix the error?? Warning: could not connect to display. Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found. Error: This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem. Available platform plugins are: eglfs, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, vnc, wayland-egl, wayland, wayland-xcomposite-egl, xcb.

Nice video! Can you please compile godot and test it on the hp or the duet 5, or just compile raylib and test it with vs code . I really want to see them running before I get the duet 5

Can somebody confirm if Blender 3D is available for ARM64 this way? All the other methods to install Blender on Chromebook have required AMD or Intel CPU this far.

No it's not possible. I use the Chrome PWA, works better than the android App. I think the android App will not be supported anymore.

When i ran the command for the app i want and it said 1) system 2) user which one do i chose?

you can try 1 and also 2. No harm will happen. Its important to pay attention to ''sudo'' command writen in the description below the video.

Right now, I don't think so. It works but in M1 Macs which are also ARM! So it's a matter of time and demand.
