Love the videos. You will find over time that the paracord keeps stretching and needing re-tightening. Polyester rope has the least amount of stretch (unless you want to spend $$ on kevlar core rope). You will want eye screws or hook screws in the face of the posts to hold the pulleys. The screw in the top will eventually split off the face of the post like a wedge splitting firewood.

Very nice idea for a "clothes line". I have noticed that paracord degrades in the sun over just one year. Might want to get a cord designed for clothes line.

I'm glad to see you using a clothes line, it amazes me the amount of people I know who use tumbler dryers that go on and on for our using electricity when with a bit of wind will dry in half the time on a line!

+Michael Collinson I calculated that the dryer we have will consume $ 1.42 with each cycle. Over the course of a year you can save quite a bit of money. And the time it takes to load the line is not all that much.

A for effort. You’ll run into a few mishaps as you use the line. Hooks would of been better on the side of the pole instead of the top. With time the wood warps and the grain of the wood separates with the weather, sun, rain, heat and cold. Reinforcing the pole on the porch with another 2x4 will help.

i would replace the screws with the staples used on the fence. With my luck the hardware would pop off. Keep up the good work

A quick cheat to support the clothes line the way you have it is to get a long branch with a fork in one end and push up the line when it is full of cloths. I live in a area with shit loads of red soil and the dust is bad, just be careful with paracord as it will absorb the red dust and stain your light coloured cloths. Better off getting plastic coated "cloths line" then you can run a wet rag over it occasionally to clean the dirt off it. A trick I use to store rope is plastic bottles, melt a hole in the lid the same size as your rope / parra cord / string etc, push an end through the lid tire a thumb knot push into the bottle and put the lid back on, then slowly push, feed the rope into the bottle as it fills up bump it on the ground to settle the rope and keep feeding it in until full or you have the amount you require. It will not tangle, keeps the rope clean from contaminants and damn easier to store. Another great share you have done cheers & God Bless, Les 🙈🙉🙊

Ohhhh yeah, when you get to the end of the rope when pushing it in the bottle take the lid off tire a thumb knot then put the lid back on and the tire another thumb knot. Doing this will stop it from being pulled out by accident or falling into the bottle. The best thing with doing this is if you have hmmm 20 feet in the bottle and only need 10 feet you tire a knot and leave the other ten feet in the bottle where it is kept clean and tidy. I usually put the hole in the lid do a thumb knot about a foot from the end put the lid on do another thumb knot then feed the rope into the bottle before putting the lid on, just a bit quicker then trying to push it through the hole in the lid. I have half a dozen 600mil bottles with parra cord in each of them a couple of 1 litre bottles with parra cord and a couple of 2 litre bottles with 8 mil rope. Handy knowing what each size bottle roughly holds in meters. Any way enough of my drivel... God Bless 🙈🙉🙊

That is a really good idea! I would not have thought about that one. So the cord does not get stuck in the bottle? It would be my luck that the cord would get 1 foot out and then start to tangle from the bottom up. haha.

+Land to House nahhhh. It is a principle I learned while learning cliff rescue, and with out boring you too much, the rope was stored in a rope bag by being threaded in through a small hole in the top flap (do not attempt to coil) just feed it in naturally as you push it into the bag. Then when you need to use it we would pull out just enough to tie an anchor knot and through the bag of rope over and it would go all the way to the end and never tangle. Tie a thumb knot in the last or first ten inches (depending on how you look at the way the rope goes in the sack).. Anyway I just passed that principle onto using empty drink bottles etc.. Make sure you clean out the bottles before using them.... Cheers God Bless, Les 🙈🙉🙊

Sorry that screw won’t hold a line of clothes.

that pulley is too small - the clothes pins will have no room between the two rope runs; you need a tensioner in the line; and put the knot on the top run, not the bottom. I think those pulleys will pop off the screws

Put the joiner mechanism or knot on the bottom, if its on the top it can tangle with clothes and not let the clothes come back in.
