Insta360 X4 is currently my favorite camera. just set it and forget - has the top specs so far; still waiting for GoPro's next rendition of its Hero Max (which I still have); have used the X4 for my road and mountain biking adventures and on other occasions.

Resolution does matter, but I still feel that what you film, the way you film, and the way you edit make a video interesting. I try to compose interesting shots in a traditional way even though I have a 360 camera. The 360 workflow allows me to make small adjustments I can't make with a traditional camera. I don't care if it's gopro or insta360 that makes a better 360 camera, but I need a 360 camera.

the video looks so shakey on the x4.. where is the stabilization? i want to like the x4 but its got too many downsides for me wish i could edit the video with the editing software i choose is another big reason

This is my first 360 camera(x4). I will say that after I bought it I suffered from editing intimidation.I did try the AI but sadly it really limits the length of your final outcome. I wish there was an option to select the length of the AI video. Overtime I have become more educated simply by watching videos like yours. Where at one time my primary camera was my DJI Action. That now has become the x4. I appreciate you and others that provide good detail on how to edit in Pro mode. Also options of capturing with the 360.

I'm just looking for a camera to use while on my bike for safety, a sort of dash-cam style use only, you know, to have myself covered and everything recorded. Is a 360 cam even something I should be looking for for this use? It is an electric bike, so I should be able to record throughout my entire time riding right? But maybe a simple wide angle (fishbowl) style cam is all I really need. Please let me know camera and safety experts

X4 for me, more versatile imo. Unfortunately bulky and heavy is really the only downfall. To be able to frame your shot later is the future of cameras, resolution will just get better and better.

How big are the biggest files you got from the X4? i would like to run it with a powered selfiestick for up to 4 hours roadtrip with the gps data in 1 file instead of many 30min, like on my X3. Tnx.

I don’t really pay attention to file sizes. Get a bigger sd card and a bigger ssd to hold the files is my recommendation. Less thinking = more enjoyment.

@RobHK Already have 1tb on my x3, im thinking if i record continuously for many hours on roadtrips with the powered selfiestick if its one file then there might be greater risk of file corruption.

The insta 360 x4 seems to get rave reviews all the time is it as simple as this or am I missing something

For me the 360 cameras have always for gimmicky social media shots, and not for me serious work. But I'm starting to change my mind on that, the X4 is a big leap forward. Thanks for sharing.

It depends on what you are doing. I'm recording on a boat and a lot of times by myself. There is no way I could ever get the footage I get without a 360 camera. The Insta360 X3 camera is the best thing I've bought to help me create content. Get one, you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner.

Do I remove the battery from the camera if not frequent use

My phone can't download the insta360 apps... It says that my phone not compatible with the app... I use Redmi C13. Can anybody help me...😭
