Thanks for the video! I'm a custom home builder and thinking about starting a side hustle scanning houses under construction before they are covered with drywall. Plus, 3D tours through completed homes, etc. could be another offering. I need to learn more about how to use the Matterport Pro 3 though and all of the features it has so I know what services I could offer.

This is a really cool video. The company I work for has recently purchased a 3D scanner. This is to be used on a production plant. Basically we need to scan the inside of a mill (a big drum, with a size of 4m diameter and 8m long). There is not a lot of light, but can be added. It can also be dusty. Wonder how the X3 would do in such a case? Might be good enough to create a file you can share with the customer to give him an inside tour?

What SW are you using for post-processing for both of the devices (to get the walking tour feel)? Matterport?I am looking at the screencap at the 6:03 mark.

This seems like it would be a great tool for documentation of a crime scene. Great review, too.

Are you doing these Matterport tours, or just reviewing the product? It looks interesting. Real Estate photography is a field that is always going to need a good well rounded photographer.

@4:40 thank you for your video. It just occured to me that you don't show the two compared pictures from the window the same size! the smaller (Matterport) looks way sharper - but when you make them same size the difference is really really small small. please keep it authentic

With the Matterport, can you actually export a textured 3d model of the entire space (like an obj or fbx file with texture maps), or is it still just only for a 360 spherical tour with a 3d dollhouse view used for navigation? Thanks!

Am curious too

One issue I have with the insta 360 is the range of connectivity. It can get tricky when you’re scanning an open area with nowhere to hide. You lose connection easily sometimes less than 10 feet away and you can’t walk behind it like you can with the Matterport

I tried to do a scan yesterday with the X3 but the quality didn't go all the way to 72MP but rather to 17MP HDR! anyway I can force it to 72MP?

Im using the 360 camera, can i take the photos in jpeg or do they need to be hdri photos?

Is samsung s24 ultra or samsung s24 plus better than x3 360* camera for 3d scanning for both virtual tour and pointcloud ?

I am pretty sure they are both Matterport products. I think they use the same type of software

It struggles, but using the Axis with an iPhone 15 Pro or any other phone with low light capabilities it shines

hello, I thought you were experienced in this area, I just bought the matterport pro2 and I have a few questions. Is there a fee charged to me if I want to make a dollhouse after I sub, and is there a fee for posting the virtual tour on the website?

@@kannansivaprasad4499 because that’s the way LiDAR is it’s not accurate. I measure houses for a living I tried using LiDAR and comparing it. It adds like 200 ft.² to each house. I just use a tape measure.

Insta x3 is a toy compared to the Pro3. I have Matterport Pro2, Pro3 and had also Insta X3. First of all, Insta X3 will probably use infrared beams for measurements, which will immediately struggle under the direct sun. Secondly, the battery of Insta X3 will be dead/empty ultra-fast. Next, the scanning range of the Insta x3 is ca. 2-3 meters, the Pro 3 's is ca. 12 meters + etc. Next, Pro3 has 1 inch sensor, 5 steps of HDR, etc.
