It was great to hear your thoughts on the R. Being a fan of VR, I have the Insta 360 EVO. I have family both in Hungary and the US, and I thought it was excellent to share memories across continents. I bought VR glasses to multiple family members. Reframing is also very interesting, you can capture events from all directions at the same time, and worry about the framing while editing. Stabilization in 360 is out of this world, simply because the camera can see everything. I also have the QooCam 8K, but it's more cumbersome in many ways (size, weight, workflow, cost, heat/fan, recording time). I'm looking forward to your 1inch module review later!

Thanks for these great reviews. Always my favorite to watch. What’s your opinion between the Osmo Action and the Insta 360 with 4k mod? I can’t decide between them. The Dji with large LCD and front screen vs the Insta 360 with mods you can change like the 1” inch sensor.

Great video. Both practical but also deeper technical issues considered from point of view of both casual user and more professional users. This was exactly the review I was looking for as someone doubting between this and the Fimi Palm. Looking forward to your review for the 1 inch mod!

I was wondering if you'll test Insta products. Awaiting 1inch mod review, I wonder if I can use it as like "normal" camera.

Wow! I haven't ever been that much interested on the action cameras, but THIS device has sparks my excitement! Damn fine looking stabilization, great option and expansions possibilities, nice video quality. Cool stuff! I think i'll get it at some point.

Hey, I am reading a lot about bugs, freezing, problems etc. What is your opinion and what have other users experienced? Looks like all action cams now freeze, get hot, shut off, lose footage... but almost no reviews talk about it.

Is it good at night to film with a light attach to it looking for little camera for ghosthunting at night .and is the one inch mod len is for wide angle shots? Hope to hear from you

Can one work with these proprietary formats in apps like Shotcut? Do I need to edit videos first in Insta Studio?

Great review! I don't understand the dislikes. This is SO in depth! Any advantage to insv to mp4 BESIDES stabilization? Seems like many vids are mp4 nowadays so it makes me question the upload compatibility as well as wonder if the rendering process is affected. 🤔

Thank you! All modes use mp4 after the FW update, so there is no need to be concerned with that anymore.

Thank you, it is very different device than Osmo Pocket. One R shoots ultra-wide footage OP shoots 26mm, so they are good complementary devices, but not directly comparable.

It uses mp4 now even with flow state stabilization, so there is no need for that setting anymore.

If you use .insv and stabilize in post, it is better than Hero 8.

I don't know, I have never used it under water.

When you put on the cage, it's not easy to change to the front screen. You need to dismantle it and re-assembly. While Dji Osmo Action can do in one single click.

Of course, that is a compromise of this design. On the other hand, Osmo Action can't shoot 360 or 5.3K.

It's really sad how companies like panasonic, can't implement flow state stabilization. All it takes is one IMU sensor which is trivially small, and software in to do it, but no....Legacy dslr companies aren't innovative enough. Great hardware, but that's it. I mean we still can't get uncropped 4k on a gx9? Seriously? The sensor is hardly bigger than a 1". People online just complain that "it's not possible with heat etc. ", I doubt it, look at this camera 1" sensor and it can do 4k uncropped at 16mm. Try finding a compact 16mm equivalent micro four thirds lens and also a body small like the gx9 that can do 4k uncropped.

It seems that Sony has already implemented similar system in ZV-1 and RX0 II. M43 system hasn't seen much innovation since 2017, but I think that we will see a lot of innovation in new Sony, Fuji and Canon cameras.
