Firstly, thanks for taking the time and effort to make the video. I also have a new X4 and an Ace Pro and I didn't know that my GPS remote would control both cameras. A very helpful and informative video. Oh, and a BIG thumbs 👍 up.

It be cool if it worked with the go 3 then id consider getting a go 3 but im very happy with the watch, works really well

we need to test the old ones with this camera.

I can't get the older monochrome remote to connect to my X4, even though I've updated the firmware. Anybody else get it to work?

Are you still able to preview videos on both camera when you hit record button? Or it just blank and record

If you are controlling two cameras you wont be able to preview any video on the remote. Its just shows that you are recording and what mode you are in

Do you manage to wake up both cameras with remote ? Mine wake up only the last paired camera, but turn off both.

I have the same issue… It will turn off both cameras but will only turn on one.. hopefully they can fix that.

You would think that Insta would want to make the remote universal

I would advice you to update the GPS Preview Remote firmware. Currently the update via the app provides v1.0.0.34, which enhances the support and fixes some glitches.

If you update the firmware on the remote via the app, it will correctly display the X4

Is this the only GPS that works on the X4? Do older ones also work with it?

Found a reddit post where someone from insta says they will try and work on it but that was a month and a half ago. And it still isnt working as of week ago according to to some users posting in there

@@pootinplays My X4 arrived yesterday. Unfortunately I couldn't pair it with the GPS. It's very frustrating.

This remote only really works with the X4 perfectly, when you connect the X4 and the Ace Pro together and turn both cameras off and then hit the record button so that both cameras power on and start recording immediately, only the X4 will turn on and start recording. Now if both cameras are already on then they both record just fine, so something is messed up here. All cameras and remote are on the lates firmware as of 6/14/2024

I agree there needs to be some improvement to really get this to work correctly.

update the remote with the insta app (settings) and the there have the right pics for the cameras. But it is the same with the recording. you only have the posibility to control it like you do it. I think it would be a nice option to say gove me this cam or that. My hope was I give my wife a cam on her backpack and i can control this camera.

Ce que je vois c'est qu'Insta n'a pas fait de progrès pour la rapidité de connexion sur sa télécommande, je mets 15 à 20 secondes pour réveiller mon X3 et pouvoir filmer avec la télécommande remote et la nouvelle ne fait guère mieux, c'est pénible lors d'un road trip. Dans le même temps Gopro ne met pas plus de 4 secondes pour réveiller ses caméras avec sa télécommande et pouvoir filmer !
