Mutual of Omaha's "Wild Kingdom", the first television series of it's kind, inspired generations of young boys and girls to fall in love with wild animals, appreciate the adventure of the great outdoors, and learn how to protect and conserve our natural world. Today, those children have grown up to become the dedicated men and women on the front lines of the conservation effort, and many of them attribute their passion for conservation, and their decision to pursue a career working with animals, directly to the influential impact "Wild Kingdom" had on their lives.
In this special, host Peter Gros travels to California to spotlight the story of "Conservation Ambassadors" Gabe Kerschner, Becki Brunelli and their wild menagerie of animals big and small. As wildlife experts who visit schools around the country promoting conservation through education, they are positively influencing a new generation of young minds just as Wild Kingdom influenced theirs. Gabe and Becki introduce us to their amazing team of animal ambassadors, teach us how we can help protect the environment, and share their incredible story of how they were ‘Inspired by Wild Kingdom’.
