Among all the legends Ustad Amir Khan stands out tall - both literally and figuratively. Albeit a traditionalist, it was he who heralded modernism in the field of Hindustani classical music. It was he who introduced the art of understated and abstract music making that demands very high level of intellectualism.
He was bestowed with The Sangeet Natak Academy Award and Padmabhushan for his outstanding contributions to Indian Classical Music.
