Brain is my favorite character! He goes through hell every episode, saves Gadget and Penny constantly, and all he wants in return is food, and to be with his best friend Penny. Plus, he’s hilarious.

Reggie Rexx Penny is awesome too, but that takes nothing away from Brain. If he wasn’t doing the grunt work, saving Gadget’s stupid ass, then Gadget wouldn’t have lasted past the second episode. Penny and Brain are equally awesome; I just pity Brain more because of the pounding he always takes.

@@sneakyskunk1 It was Gadget and the Gadgetinis, "No Brainer." Brain speaking didn't bother me so much, because it didn't change who he was and what he was all about. It just sped up communication. What DID bother me is that Brain would have abandoned Penny in the first place, after all the adventures they had together? I know the writers wanted him out of the way so they could bring on those two stupid little robots, but still, after Penny and Brain had saved each other's lives so many times, and gone through so much together, he never should have just abandoned her. That's almost as bad as making Penny have a crush on Dr. Claw's nephew, an arch-criminal in training. Now THAT's completely misunderstanding the character!

Oh my God that brought back so many memories. I remember watching that show when it first came on I watched it over my grandmother's house and I just loved it and it's still among my favorite animated tv shows.

I was born in the early 2000’s, and my parents put this on for me growing up. I am so glad they did! Old cartoons beat the badly 3D animated “cartoons” of today stone cold.

Inspector Gadget is one of my alltime favs. Penny and Brain were the unsung heroes of this show.

I always love this classic 80s cartoon. I used to watch it when I was younger. I'm 30 years old and I'm stll watching it. I am never too old for watching Inspector Gadget and it never gets too old either. It's still a timeless classic especially its catchy theme song. It was shown on Channel 4/ITV, the now-defunct TCC (The Children's Channel), RTÉ 2 (English version) and TnaG which is now known as TG4 (Irish Gaeilge dub). I'd say it's way better than its silly 2015 sequel/reboot but its 2002 spin-off Inspector Gadget and the Gadget Inis seems to be all right for myself. Anyway it's one of my favourite cartoons of all time.

Inspector Gadget was still on Nickelodeon in the early 90's; however, it also aired as filler on CBS's Saturday morning/early afternoon block right after Where's Waldo? during the 1991-1992 season, so that could have been why Burger King chose to feature it in its kid's meals.

This brings back memories! It’s one of my favourite cartoons back in the day and the theme is one of the most memorable theme songs in the 80s/90s

Anyone remember when this used to air Saturday mornings on Nickelodeon circa 1997 or so? Never realized when I was younger that this show was made in the 80’s. Born in 1991 I was fortunate to have caught this in reruns.

Those were the days. I loved Inspector Gadget when I was younger. It was such a fun series and the intro is so iconic. Go Gadget Go!

I honestly was and still am one of the biggest fans of this show, as I grew up with it and watched so many of its episodes whenever they aired on tv at the time. This show has such charm and innocent creativity to it that few 1980's cartoons had at the time and even now to an extent. Great show.

When I was in high school, I always used to wear a trench coat and fedora, everybody called me Inspector gadget, even my science teacher! God I miss that school.

Because of Penny, I used to play that I had a watch I can make calls from and a notebook-computer. Now we have both. This show was very futuristic!

80's and 90's had the greatest shows. Back then when life was so simple watching these great shows mornings, afternoons. I used to watch this on the family channel. I miss those days.

Inspector gadget the most incompitent cop ever. Penny & Brains solved every crime and saved Gadgets life in every episode. Dr Claw, I'll get you next time Gadget, next Time. I forgot he has a car that turns into a van for some reason.

I didn't have cable when I was younger, but we had qubo, and they aired this 8:00 pm- 1:00 am on saturdays and fridays so I stayed up late watching inspector gadget when I was younger. It was a great show

The great irony is how Claw is always thinking it's Gadget who defeats him but in reality it's a 10 year old girl and a dog that beats him because Gadget never actually did anything on purpose at least Brain and Penny always did the actual work lol. Claw's actual enemies are Penny and Brain.

Who agrees? Cartoons of the 1980s were unique and diverse. Kids had so many options to choose from. This intro theme alone psychs me up to watch the episode and series. Today's cartoons are too CGI and lame. Even if they are hand drawn, you can tell the writers and cartoonists don't put a lot of time and effort into developing a creative storyboard. How is it possible that we invented the internet and smartphones to advance society, yet with today's crappy cartoons it seems like cartoons of almost 40 years ago are more advanced?

Nostalgic! The only word for now! I love this show.

I've suspected that as well. Nick did a similar thing when they first acquired Inspector Gadget, coincidentally, around the same time the original Nicktoons premiered. Nick ran a few promos more or less stating (or at least hinting in a less-than-subtle way) that Gadget was the 4th Nicktoon and "their" property. I remember one spot in which they all but declared Inspector Gadget a Nicktoon. There was also a Capri Sun tie-in series of Nicktoons trading cards the channel released featuring all 3 of the then Nicktoons Doug, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Rugrats, the live-action children's show Eureeka's Castle...and Gadget.

You gotta love that hi hat. It makes you wanna bob your head.
