I love to learn languages too! I'm really lucky because I grew up with several languages (between an age of 0-7 ) and when I got into the conscious learning because of school I replaced some of the languages. Now I have kids and a tutkish husband and I learned Turkish with the help of my kids I'm not perfect but it was enough for a 3 month stay without my husband -just me and the kids. Of course now back in German I don't use it so much and goes to the use it or lose it principle. And I'm looking forward to learn Slovenian next because I was born there and kind of lost it because we moved to Germany and I replaced it as I said before...thanks for the Vlogs Joseph. I enjoy this videos! Continue

Hi Joseph, the piano conscious and unconscious thing you are talking about I find applies for me with street dance freestyle but I guess no suprise there even though it still feels like magic that the playing of music and dancing to music has always been a close mystical match.

Thanks for this glimpse into your practice, some thoughts: - kettlebells: i've heard that you're not supposed to call it your weak and strong arm but your strong arm and your stronger arm :) - is there a reason why you decide not to clean it (as in sort of a swing that ends up with the bell in the rack position, imo a great exercise in its own right) to set up the press? obviously your way works just fine, just curious. - piano/crafting: who doesn't love some bach? i had the privilege of building my own clavichord at a workshop in rostock. there's a guy who runs these week long workshops every once in a while where you build your own instrument from scratch. there's something extremely satisfying about playing music on a self-made instrument (as imperfect as the both the build and the playing may be).

Hey, I am from Rostock originally, so I am intrigued to know more about this guy! I just took up the kettlebell into the rack without thinking. Notice I wasn't warm. I prefer this way more than doing a clean when cold, but I know all the kettlebell exercises. I trained with it for several years intensely and did a Steve Kotter Cert 13 years ago. I go back to swings, cleans and snatches from time to time (not that often though)

The moment you want to be something you’re no longer free, even if it’s as subtle as the practitioner. You should be aware of that Joseph :)

“Being free” is one of this modern things so many talk about. Most people use it because they are afraid to make decisions and take the consequences. I care about connection, not the illusion of freedom.

@@josephbartztraining If there is choiceless awareness you don’t even make a decision to begin with. After spending years in a movement practice myself there is a realization that this passive alertness cannot be trained, conditioned or even practiced. Some still believe in fasting which is even more childish. Most people are not afraid of decisions they are afraid to end something because the self always wants to continue in time so if the center is still present continuing the practice might be just a continuation of the self.

@@dossantos13244 I do not usually discuss in the internet with people that are anonymous. So if you want to continue this discussion please write your name and if I don’t know you yet please link an internet presence where we can see who you are. What I read in your comment seems to be from the Krishnamurthi stream of thought. Would you verify that? “Some still believe in fasting which is even more childish” - what are you trying to say here? Are you referring to fasting from food? Or the general concept of taking something out of your life for some time? What do “some” believe when it comes to fasting? This sentence seems quite mysterious at the moment. Is it part of the awareness you are talking about to write in a way other people can understand or are you doing a zen koan thing here? “Most people are not afraid of decision, they are afraid to end something”

@@josephbartztraining Luckily I just started out to publish my thoughts as well so I will put my name and the link to my website at the end of the comment that we can have a fair discussion :) Yes I've studied Krishnamurti for many years now and his message of finding out for myself gets more and more clear as time passes so what I write is thought out by myself I think we both agree that people are fasting since ages now therefore it must be a tradition. The word tradition is linked to the word traduced but what do people actually traduce with all these practices that exists for millenials? Clearly the present. Yes fasting might have some bioligical benefits but has it brought about a fundamental change in human consciousness? For me the very essence of meditation is to put everything in life wether it is eating, sleeping or training in it's correct order therefore the question of fasting in whatever shape or form completely disappears. If everything is in it's right place why do I feel the need to restrict myself artificially? I think if someone is very serious investigating into this deep and complex topic this is the beginning of experiencing what actually is which is the complete opposite of living by words. Choiceless awareness means to me to explore if it is completely possible to live without making a decision? This of course doesn't mean that you don't care and don't pursue anything - it comes out of the understanding that the observer is the observed and that I can not be free as long as I choose because who is it that chooses? I found your channel seven years ago and I am still coming back regulary because I think you are doing a very good job in bringing awareness to the world and helping a lot of people. I am completely aware that this discussion is way too complex to have it in a KZread comment section so I am always down for further investigations in a different set up. :) With best regards, Christoph Kühn www.christophkuehn.com
