It's common for people with PTSD to have memory loss! So it makes sense why The dad was suffering so much not to mention having forgotten his traumatic events but still living with the symptoms of it.

That isn't really memory loss from PTSD though because they purposely wiped any recollection of The Further from their minds in Chapter 2.

Therapist here: That's not entirely how PTSD, or the mind/brain in general, works. Absent of physical brain injury (e.g., concussion, post-traumatic amnesia) the brain is actually remarkable in remembering information, particularly traumatic memories. As a matter of fact, traumatic memories tend to be the best remembered information

I love how they used the SAME EXACT family from the kids to the parents it's so amazing seeing the kids all grown up! The black girl made this movie so much better in my opinion, she definitely came through with the comic relief when needed lmao!

I normally don't watch reactions to stuff that I haven't seen yet. But I was honest with myself and recognized that I was NEVER going to watch this on my own. So I chose to watch it with my favorite reactors.

I fucking loved it. So much better then Chapter 3 and The Last Key. The jumpscares and the tension were on point and effective AF.

From the moment the hammer becomes real, I absolutely love it. So creepy and I adore the full circle moments. Before that it’s a lil shit I won’t lie, I did really like The Last Key. I honestly just prefer The Conjuring to Insidious though, although I do still like the saga!

dad saving son and son saving dad theme in these movies is such a good one. i'm glad they focused on it in this one as well.

I don't get the poor reviews. I think they did a great job of closing it up. And Patrick Wilson did a good job. And the theme of dealing with trauma instead of repressing it is a good one. I always thought it was a stupid idea for them to hypnotize themselves to forget.

In fact, this is the weakest film in the series. All screamers are predictable and unimpressive. The first hour of the film is rather long, only in the last 30 minutes of the film the most interesting begins. The demon with the red face and the secret of the red door were not revealed at all. To be honest, the story of the Lambert family ended perfectly in the second film and there was no need to continue it.

it was a decent film but did not deliver on the scares, it felt more Mike Flanagan-y dealing more on the trauma, the personal relationships which is good but just wish the scares were more and delved more into the red door/red demon.

FYI: That was Patrick Wilson (Josh) singing the cover of Stay by Shakespeare's Sister during the end credits

That blue light effect looks SO sick on the demon’s face! He just looks like Darth Maul up close in the previous movies. But they really leveled him up in this one!

This one was great fun in the cinema! Really enjoyed it, as I like the first two.

The New set up is fire.

With the mixed reviews, I was a little hesitant about this, but I was impressed! The directing and acting really does carry it through the weaker points, and your guys's editing always makes me giggle. I hope Bobo is not scarred for life.

I thought at best the movie was okay I was expecting sm more from this sequel even shots from the trailer didn’t make it in, no elaboration on the lipstick demon, the other family members didn’t get much screentime, they didn’t defeat the lipstick demon considering in the post credits scene the light above the red door turns on again implying it’s gonna be back but will probably attack a different family since they said this was the last movie focusing on the lamberts. Overall a 6/10

I'd put these five movies in this order of liking- 1, 2, 5, 3, 4

I MARKED OUT HEARING TIPTOE THROUGH THE TULIIPS AGAIN. Great sequel to the 2nd one. This is one of my favorites. Liked it better than the fourth lol. This one's writing wasn't the best but was mainly focused on Dalton and Josh. Kris was good but I prefer Specs/Tucker as the comedy element. I'm happy to see Ty Simpkins in a lead role finally. I do wish the final act was better. They cut out some great callbacks from the trailer which was disappointing.

This may be unpopular but my favorite Insidious films are still the Elise centered ones 🤷🏻‍♂️ I still think the third One is probly the “scariest” out of them all, or at least had the most effective tension and jump scares. I honestly just LOVE Elise she’s just such a beast I’d watch more films centered on her 😭 this film was probly the most emotional film and I did enjoy Chris’s character ALOT but tbh I definitely felt like the four movies of build up leading to the Red Door Demon didn’t really pay off. Idk, obviously the design is really good but I didn’t feel “afraid” like I did the first time seeing him in the original film, and after so much build up I felt he should have had more of an impact of that makes sense? Think I kinda wish this movie spooked me more i guess but the emotional core was pretty solid. I hope the next film is Elise working from the spirit world and continuing to help people with her friends 🙏🏻🙌

Chapter 3 and The Last Key had more tense and darker moments than Red Door, and Lin Shaye pulled the plot. Adding her to the poster in this part was generally a bad idea, given the amount of screen time she had.
