The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (RRHOF), sometimes simply referred to as the Rock Hall, is a museum and hall of fame located in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, United States, on the shore of Lake Erie. The museum documents the history of rock music and the artists, producers, engineers, and other notable figures who have influenced its development.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was established on April 20, 1983, by Ahmet Ertegun, founder and chairman of Atlantic Records. After a long search for the right city, Cleveland was chosen in 1986 as the Hall of Fame's permanent home. Architect I. M. Pei designed the new museum, and it was dedicated on September 1, 1995.

Those AIC figures are from the I stay away video. It pisses me off though that even the museum seems to think that grunge is only pearl jam AIC and Nirvana, there were a lot of other bands, if you haven't heard Sponge, look them up there possibly the most underrated and overlooked grunge band ever

Run DMC integrated rock and hip hop in a way that made a significant impact - they weren't the only ones doing it but possibly the first to earn mainstream success with rap/rock fusion. I think they definitely deserve a place in RRHOF.

@@curlytoes22 maybe you didn't catch the name of the building, its called the rock and roll hall of fame, run dmc did NOTHING to help rock, nothing, they spoke rhymes, they didn't sing, they didn't play instruments. If it wasnt for Aerosmith, most middle class people would never have heard of them. You want a rap hall of fame, go get it, but keep country, rap, classical, and anything else that isn't rock, out of the hall. That's why this place is a joke, has no credibility. By the way, other than the Aerosmith connection, give me some examples of how DMC integrated rock and hip hop. BTW, sampling rock tunes, in other words, stealing rock tunes, doesn't count. Ill be waiting for all those examples you have lined up.................

The hall is a joke, it was a joke from the first day it was opened. Here is how you get into the hall of fame. The main thing you need to get into the hall is you have to donate to the political organizations that the people who run the hall support. Thats is first an foremost, without that, you wont even be considered. If you are a super successful group, it may not apply to you, they have to let you in, or else it would give away the reasons why all the "smaller" group or artists get in. Once the first rap group went into the "rock and roll" hall of fame, it became even more of a joke, and a waste of time. They put ll cool j onto the hall, really, gee, i wonder why? He had some many rock and roll hits, right?
