Showing the Eric Carr Creatures suit beside the drums , when the camera panned up there was a rip in the video that made it look like Eric’s mannequin blinked , that freaked me out I had to rewind and watch a couple times to be sure that’s what it was LOL. Very cool stuff. I would’ve been in heaven going through this stuff. I was a big Peter Criss fan , he is the one that made me want to play drums , the solo from 100,000 Years on Alive. That did it for me. 👍👍👍✌️✌️✌️

Yeah , I noticed that as well. Many emotions spring up when Eric Carr is involved. His spirit is VERY present when you're close to that stuff.

Thank you for sharing this footage. Very interesting to see some of the things kiss used. Saw kiss in 1976 and 1978... Richfield coliseum in Richfield Ohio. 1976 concert... very snowy and slippery.. Great memories.

Fantastic videoblog of the KISS auction back-in-the-day. It's unnerving these genuine artifacts of Kisstory were left open to the general public (to help themselves) so up close and unprotected.

It was amazing but the public was NOT allowed and when they couldnt control themselves , it got shut down. I always thought they should have done a traveling KISS museum with this stuff. Even stuff in Gene's current Vegas exhibit isnt as cool as most of this stuff. I mean his Hotter than Hell costume chest piece in this video is always gonna be cooler than a Tommy Thayer era pair of boots LOL

I was at the Creatures signing at the Worcester Ma record shop. Got the Paul, Gene, Vinnie, Eric signed publicity photo. Met same band on the Lick It Up tour in Stafford, England, and Glasgow ('Glaz-go') Scotland. Tickets Autographed, photos. They answered questions. Gene spoke hungarian when we asked him to. He translated it as meaning "It is beautiful like a rose, and yet it has thorns'. I took photos of them, someone used my camera to take photos of me and Gene. In Glasgow, Scotland, I didn't have a camera, so a stranger took a photo of Paul and Me. (I've never seen that photo). Lick it Up tour in Worcester Ma, saw Paul getting out of Limo (posing, as the garage door slid down). As we waited outside the hotel, Vinnie just walked up, did autograhs and we took photos. Gene's roadie Dave gave up pics/plectrums, including some of Gene's Herco Flex 75 bass pics.

It's really a shame that all this stuff wasn't kept for a Kiss museum.

Very very awesome of you to share this!!!!!!! Eh,some info not quite right,but like you I'm not one of those "I know 100%". I'm pretty good with the outfits,especially Gene. This was sooooo cool. I would love to have seen those for real! There's pieces of his Destroyer outfit that I would like to see up close,like his dragon boots,wanna get a good look at the scales. Most who call themselves dressing as Gene in destroyer era,they are actually wearing the 98 revamped version,as there's a lot of difference between them,most either don't know,or don't care lol. I prefer to look as he did in 76..that includes exactly how the armor and boots really looked. This here would've helped me on point with my outfit. Again..kudos for sharing this!!!!!!!👊🏿

Hey there .Glad you liked it. If you read this video's description notes , I made corrections on some of the errors I made in this videos narration. But the fans know already what's what and I wanted this to be loose not academic. And yes, the Destroyer scales are awesome.That is an outfit that wasn't there - a full authentic head to toe Simmons 76. The one in this video is a Psycho Circus recreation ( the cod piece is the giveaway - the studs are larger and more rounded along with more spacing in the chest piece.) Have a good one Mr Bently.

Yes . . . and not exactly. They closed everything up once people started touching and TAKING ( pics etc ). A couple parents let kids do STUPID things and that was it - ruined it for everyone and closed. So yeah , I went with my cam right away anticipating something like that would happen and here we are - all these years later ! Glad you liked it.

KISS's spacesuits were designed by Larry Legaspi in NYC. He first did work w the group LaBelle. A funk rock sci fi group. Aka Patti LaBelle. If you check old pics of the group it's 3 Black girls in Ace's space stuff. Their outfit concepts were so amazing. It grew into KISS and George Clinton's P-Funk scene. George was into the Space Funk thing, UFO's and outrageous costumes. The 70's was a really wild time.

Yeah I've heard that. Labelle's shouldre pads are ACe Destroyer style all the way. The 70's really were ( and ARE ) super bad ass in so many ways.

Thinking that first Ace destroyer costume shown at around the 6 minute mark may be from the “Psycho Circus” era (1998). That version looked a lot more sturdy and had a curvature to the V in the shoulders. The “Destroyer” (1976 / 1977) chest piece was on the hanger at around the 11 - 12 minute mark. You can tell by how flimsy and thin it was

That kit is from the Alive! tour. The Destroyer/RnRO tour had a Honeycomb type finish.

Just saw this today pretty cool ! Been a fan since 74 - 75 ! It's a shame that a normal fan could not afford most of this memaberla! I do have a nice collection ! Peace to all ya all !!

The Black BC RICH Eagle comes from REVENGE TOUR, the Skull bass was used in some 1979 adds, and on the HIDE YOUR HEART video, also on some photos during LICK IT UP ERA. The Star guitar was never played live, just in some TV appareances.

Gene's Demon Boots as the rest of the band's boots are made by a company called Andre No. 1 in LA. The boots to the Stars. Even Prince got his high heels there.

I went to a place in Hollywood (cant remember the name) where they had all this stuff on display before the auction. Weird thing was all the items from Boots, Costumes, Drums, Body suits and more were just layed out as if you in a store. You were allowed to pick up touch and even (in my case) try on Aces Dynasty boots. Need-less to say it was a fun day for a KISS nerd like me.

Right . . . and that's why they shut it down after security was brought in. I saw two kids garb Peters 1978 vest and playing with an Ace chest piece and they ( Butterfield's ) were like " Yeah we're real close to something getting damaged and the value of this stuff being affected so . . . . " All the cases etc were closed up as soon as I got out of there. I very much wanted to pick up Gene's 78 boots but was being super respectful as you could tell , it was close to the end and they had kinda had enough.

@@markfloresmusic I remember there was a road case with Eric Carr stenciled on it and inside was all kinds of things from drum sticks, guitar picks, nail polish, leather gloves.... All personal items that belonged to him. I remember thinking this should have been given to his family. Did u happen to buy the book they were selling with all the items being sold??

Peter Criss and Chester Thompson were two of the first real major drummers in the 70s who are endorsed by Pearl Drums regardless of what kits put on their credit card Peter Criss could have gotten anything he wanted from them. I know several of the drum sets used from 1996 to 2003 he has at home. Kiss may have kept a couple of those kits from that era as well as some of the stuff in the 70s but Peters endorsements to Pearl and DW so he could get whatever he wanted and he didn't have to pay anything. You know Peter could have auctioned off a few of his drum set or even donated them outside of kiss but I know he's got three or four kits at home that he used from 1996 to 2003.

Yes to all your comments. No doubt Peter was much wiser in the reunion era. Of course regardless of what I or anyone else thinks - the kits are here , in the auction AND - Peter also told me his green Dynasty outfit was taken by their wardrobe girl and placed in his limo at the end of the Shandi video so Peter would have no hoops to jump through to get it.He said he still has it 100% complete. Cool stuff and great background regarding Chester Thompson - THANX !

cool stuff man. I noticed the Leopard BC Rich guitar wasn't in the video (Auction). I heard Paul sold it, so I'm guessing it was sold before this. that was amazing looking guitar.

@@markfloresmusic he had 2 of them. they look similar but just a little different. I emailed BC Rich abut them making that guitar, they responded back. can't remember what they said on it, but the guy did tell me 1st one was stolen & they made Paul another & he gotten the 1st one back. 1 of them has tape @ the lower bottom right. looks like Paul was trying to cover up a ding or so.

Never figured whey they didn't wear their original Love Gun costumes in concert. Especially Ace. His costume with the shiny silver was so much cooler than the whiter version that he used live.

Ace's original Love Gun costume ( as seen in the first photo shoots ) reflected back too much of the darkness in an arena during 77 stage rehearsals ( there are pics online ). In a controlled setting , under photo shoot lights it looked great , but the silver sparkle/white foam style he used on tour photographed better and reflected light better during KISS' performance. It was much easier to photograph. The other suit in rehearsals ( on stage ) looked like if night time saw itself in a mirror.

Nah , the one from that video is the dark one from the back of the Asylum tour book. Dont know where that guitar is. It could be that one re painted though so . . . you may be right

6:55 Odd that Gene would use what basically looks like an SS Deaths Head on his bass.

I know. I saw Eric play that kit in 1983 and there I was , an adult standing in front of it and Eric is long gone. Life is too weird . . . RIP

Because they were all non discript and had no info posted ( nor in the auction catalog ) as to who's was who's. There was nothing distinguishing a head or cab as being used on stage or in studio either,

After further review this was the place i was at.

Any info on what these items sold for?

Sadly no. Now that info would be everywhere. But most of it was bought by Hard Rock Cafe and various other high end memorabilia entities. A few fans came away with some of the non makeup outfits/personal clothes and one guy I heard of got a trunk full of Gene's personal items ( He said Gene threw in a TON of perfect shape vintage posters too ). But no , there's no "go to" site for info that I know of on where any of this stuff went or or what price.

A lot of this was at the KISS convention in 1995 in Atlanta.

It wasn't Paul's Tears Are Falling robe it was actually the "Who Wants To Be Lonely?" robe. The TAF robe was pink.

WHY do Gene's boots in 2022 look so inferior to his boots in 1977??? The 76- 78 boots, and Creatures boots look so much cooler badass 5:41

Thats funny , yeah I think the same thing. Those Creatures boots ( with the 77/78 boot shell coverings ) are THE ULTIMATE. Gene played in the original bands prime AND with Eric & Vinnie in those boots.The wear and history of that particular pair of boots cant be matched.

If I could own just one item from this auction...It would be Eric Carr's Unmasked Fox costume!

@@DF-ee8vt There was a problem with the mannequins. You see , the mannequins were made for the costume displays of the 1995 KISS Conventions. But they only made a certain amount of them ( I.E. only a certain amount of heads would have a tongue out etc ). But this auction had so many outfits that they didn't have enough corresponding heads that would match properly. (the Ace face in the first Love Gun suit looks a LOT better than the Hotter than Hell dummy ) There were more Paul & Gene heads made as they had more suits on display in 1995. Substitute heads were used alot in this auction

They were originally called the iceman. The PS models were once Paul had them as his signature model.

Yeah , there were a multitude of sins along those lines. When the stuff was shipped and re set up alot of it was re built different than how it appeared in the catalog. For instance , the catalog had a short haired / tongue out Gene mannequin with a full bodied Elder costume that was no where to be found. Belts of costumes that never went with that suit , the Paul Creatures boots with the 78 solo albums / KISS Phantoms body suit - What the WHAT ? ! The biggest drum sin - did the guy who put out the drums know that Peters black Dynasty kit ISNT the same size toms as the black Eric H.I.T.S. kit ? Don't know but I saw them both in the same friggin' pile - unbelievable ! ! !

VHS should get more lovin'. It's not as bad as some people think.

You're probably bored with that evh pic in the background. I'll do you a favor and take it for you. I know, I'm a hell of a guy.

I honestly feel Gene's Love Gun/ Reunion costume was his worst. It looks like he got ran over by a disco ball.

That's not Ace's original Destroyer/ Rock and Roll Over costume. That's the later version. The original spandex suit was totally unadorned .
