Inside the Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder Controversy | Bloomberg Investigates

Johnson’s baby powder has been the healthcare giant’s iconic product. But in recent years, tens of thousands of lawsuits have been filed against J&J alleging the version of the product that contained talc gives people cancer, a claim the company has long denied. (The video published May 10 has been corrected to show that a Missouri verdict in favor of plaintiff Jackie Fox was dismissed on jurisdictional grounds. The case was later refiled in a different court.)

If a group of individuals knowingly poisoned a group of people, every single person would be criminally investigated and arrested. If the group who did the exact same thing is called a corporation, most if not all of them will get away with it.

I lost my aunt this year to ovation cancer. She had one of the healthiest lifestyles I knew; no alcohol, no red meat, no smoking, plenty of hiking and swimming. She, like so many others in healthcare used J&J baby powder to stay fresh during their long shifts. She didn’t live to resolve the lawsuit she was a part of. I hope for the sake of everyone who’s lost family to this insidious company, that Johnson & Johnson is ran into the ground. They’re still selling it like none of this is real, and it’s psychotic.

I am confused. I am a 68 year old woman and use the JxJ babypowder already 50 years and still do every day, all over my body. I still can buy it here in Holland. Didn't know about the dangers. When I share it with my physician, they don't take me serious. I feel horrible every day, for years I'm sick. But then they say: It is all in your mind, because your husband had Parkinsons and died of braincancer. And because you suffering long-covid and they refuse to do any tests. So, what can I do? Should I do?😥

The survivor is the issue. It affects people. My sister who I christened the Baby Powder Queen died of ovarian cancer at 61. I couldn't stand the smell of it so I left the area when she was dusting herself. I used corn starch on my baby as I was a hippy back then. I agree that scientific research is more useful than anecdotal stories, but you will never convince me that talc didn't have anything to do with it. Women were encouraged to dust their pads with baby powder.
