The most beautiful family series of my childhood. I spent my childhood on the weekends watching the Dallas show. Each of the actors was like one of our family. And they were never forgotten. I love you, Dallas.

Anyone remember the original house that served as Southfork in the first few episodes? I guess it burned down in the mid-80s.

It burned down in 1987. It’s in Frisco at the corner of Main Street and Preston Rd. The interiors for the 5 episode miniseries were filmed at a home on Swiss Ave, just east of downtown Dallas.

Not very small, but not a massive mansion. It's 5900sf. My sister used to live 5 minutes from there.

Been there. Even climbed the oil rig out back.

I want to write that my name is Josh Tate and i want to write that Warner Brothers studios is planning to make all 356 episodes from every season of DALLAS, upgraded in a brand new HD picture quality, available to stream on the streaming service MAX in the year 2023.

I don't like the artificial flowers and plants that are displayed in the house...gives it a tacky appearance.😬

This was nothing like the show. No I don't think I would care to see it. Things like this you gotta keep really close to the way it was on the show for it to have any value for the fans. Otherwise it's a waste of time.

inside shots were filmed on a set in california, outside were filmed on the ranch

chris's garden You're partly right. The outside scenes were shot on location at the beginning of each season, but as the season went on it was obvious they shot the remaining outside scenes on a soundstage. And if I'm not mistaken, by the late 80s, they stopped filming on location and filmed everything in Los Angeles on soundstages.

I can't help but think anyone who pays to visit the inside must feel totally ripped off. None of the decor seems to make any attempt to even slightly replicate the decor and interiors from the TV series (the 1980s or 2010s versions). From what I have observed on various KZread videos, it is a gawdy, tasteless interior that does nothing for the visitor wanting to experience the 'Dallas' life.

So tacky inside. What a disappointment.

All the rooms they used on the set would not fit in the real Southfork. I can now see why as only the exterior scenes were shown.

@@TheEwing69 The family who owned the Southfork house refused for any cameras to be let into the building as it was their home which makes sense.

I was a child when this series was screened in the UK but I can clearly remember thinking that the interior seemed much larger and at odds with the exterior. Now I know that the interior was filmed at a studio. The house is pretty from the outside but the interior is awful.

This is not the right house. It is not what I remember from the show and it doesn’t match the picture on the front of the video.

They never filmed in this house for the show What we saw with the winding staircase, etc was modeled after a home in Dallas. Inside scenes were all filmed in California.

In the show, downstairs rooms were at MGM in California. Based on the interior of the Calders residence. The house that was in the first few episodes of Dallas.
