The era of Arsenal/Man Utd between about 1997/2006 was absolutely the PL golden age for me and I'm a neutral. The intensity and quality of the head to head matches definitely lived up to the hype, and usually decided the league. 2003 when Arsenal looked like nailing it but threw it away is a shame. That would've given them 3 titles on the bounce, and they definitely merited that sort of record.

This France 2000 was certainly one of the most mythic Euros teams with Zidane, Henry, Djorkaeff, Lizarazu, Deschamps, Vieira, Desailly, Blanc, Thuram.... And with Anelka, Pires, Trezeguet, Wiltord, Candela... on the bench. Mental !

This guy banged in 15 prem goals from midfield and how many assists for 3 seasons straight in his prime 02-05. The genesis of the inverted winger in the Prem era. What a baller.

He's completely right about first-touch being the fundamental technique in football. For such a gifted player, that's very humble advice.

Bobby is spot on about Henry. It always annoyed me when people talk like you can't compare him with R9. What did Ronaldo have that Thierry doesn't?

Ronaldo was a more talented/natural dribbler. Henry took time to develop, which people don't jive with as much I think. But the level Henry reached between 02-06 was absurd. Had all the physical traits, dribbling, flair, playmaking, free-kicks. Everything.

I love how he is not thinking about Portugal. He doesn’t have a clue about what’s coming. Best squad we ever had. Ok, Cristiano is not a fraction of what he used to be and that has a lot of weight, but the rest of the team? Options and more options and all of great caliber.

There were players way before him that were diving. Klinsmann came to England in 1994 and would celebrate goals with a dive to poke fun at people who said he was diving.

Wonderful talk and pictures of a great era of football. At that time players still tugged in their shirts. There was more seriousness.

They played Denmark 🇩🇰 Czech Republic 🇨🇿 Netherlands 🇳🇱 Spain 🇪🇸 Portugal 🇵🇹 Italy 🇮🇹 And won it. Respect 🫡

I hated Pires at the time but looking back he was an absolutely brilliant player, a wide player with all the extras.

9'30 : under 18 tournament was "Tournoi de Toulon". World known.

It bothers me a bit when I hear these sort of things because I have rainman memory but all ex pro footballers will do that because they've played so many games which I suppose is different to just watching them all and obsessing over it and even looking up things regularly to refresh your memory even more where as these footballers have more things going on to get all the minor details right.
