It is called psychological pricing !!! They do not want to run away purchasers, the property is actually selling for 60 million Jamaican dollars, but if they call it 370, 000 US dollars !!! That would make the pricing seem much fairer to the property buyers, that is one reason and another is that the US dollar is a stronger currency which retains value in the financial markets but if they quote in Jamaican dollars, the sellers would lose money long term because the Jamaican dollar tends to always slide against the US dollar

I understand you John but what they expect Jamaica people to do Trish I live in England and I went home to Jamaica on holiday and some of the shops i go in they gave the price in USD I don't speak me talk Jamaica 😃 I said to couple of people when I get paid I am sure it wasn't USD it was in Jamaica dollars if they want to use the American Dollars the government needs to come to some agreement with the American government

The Jamaican currency tends to fluctuate while the US currency is more stable. So selling a house in USD will prevent the buyer from adjusting selling price everytime the local currency devalues. Further these houses are not for the average Jamaican worker. If your salary is not a minimum of JMD 12MILLION this is not for you

It's not everybody that have a large family, some do, and some don't. We need some more of these in Ocho Rios, Port Antonio, and St.Thomas. The scenery is very airy, and beautiful. Keep Up The Good Work. Blessings.

I stayed in a studio at the Aqueducts through Airbnb. I love Negril and the people. The site is gated and when you leave to walk to the center plaza there are two supermarkets to get food, a nice lady who sells fresh fruit and veggies, and a vendor who sells his own honey. Fast food nearby and right on the strip to go to Seven Mile. This townhouse seems pricey considering the alternatives available. I can't imagine living somewhere there is no window in the bathroom. But it will be my first choice each time I visit. Negril feels like home to me.

I love to hear people arguing about crime rate in jamaica vs crime rate other places, its so stupid some of the examples used to support their arguments, this is why you use the per capita formula instead of just number of crimes but one important metric they never talk about is, solve rate, that is the amount of crimes that has been prosecuted and charged. In jamaica crime is not only the highest per capita in the world its also the lowest solve rate. So yes there are crime everywhere but in order to know where is safer to live one must take into account other facts not emotional biases.
